Yeah, i'm having problems too. Haven't been able to search since Sunday. And before that, I could only search on 'collections' and not 'photos'. These problems seem to frequently happen on Fotopic, which is why Flickr is so much better imo.

It's been like that for about 2 weeks, but then fotopic isn't known for it's reliability

Looks like it might have gone altogether: -
In recent months, the whole Fotopic site has become unreliable with frequent service drop outs and lack of communication.
As of March 2011 it looks like Fotopic has ceased operating with the site down, the e-mail not working and even the parent groups sites unavailable. There has been no official comment from the company & it is likely there never will be.
Whilst the above is from Wikipedia so taken with a big dose of salt, it seems this might be the case.

This is a great shame. There are many bus photographers who use this site, and frequently upload photographs. People with accounts on there must be gutted. Especially that 'London Bus Routes Fotopic' site, which has a massive collection of bus photographs. Apart from Flickr, I can't really think of any other popular sites for bus photography. And, Flickr has only recently started to be good place for bus photos.

Think I may invest in a Flikr account for new pics (and old pics that I still have)

It is a good thing Flickr is about then, it is a shame though as alot of people had good photos on fotopic.

Lets all pray the original owner of Fotopic (Joe something) buys it back. Apparently, under him it was very reliable until he sold it. He tried to buy it back in the last few years but the current owners are asking for more than he got from the sale of it. I love Flickr but for one reason. You won't find as much on there as you will on Fotopic. I actually have a flickr account, just with 1 pic though

Have to agree there is more photographers with fotopic accounts sites than flickr, so I hope something is done about fotopic soon.

To be honest Flickr is fairly recent and has grown beyond belief. I find it better than fotopic purely for the fact everything is one this one site and all you have to is search. With fotopic you have to click various galleries to find what you want and it has had a lot of bugs as of recent.
I say this being a flickr member since 2010 and a fotopic member since 2007.

Fotopic and its parent company Snappy Designs Ltd are no longer trading. Discussions are in progress with a new team to rescue part of its service and the images more info www.fotopic.net/ so what are they saying its gone for good but they are going to bring it back under a new name

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but I thought it was important enough to do so. Fotopic are now beginning to allow anyone with an account to log in and download their pics & albums. More info can be found at www.fotopic.net

Great news.
Unfortunately going through old E-Mails to find out my username, turns out that I missed an E-Mail in 2009 telling me that my account was going to be closed due to inactivity ;D.
Nevermind.
