I don’t understand the issue with the 79’s SPs - they were in fantastic condition when at WK? The batch of YR10s are apparently the worst batch of SPs. Also following on from your post from a little while ago Frenzie I rode SP55, an ex-FW 09 plate. I can safely say they are much quicker off the mark than those YR10s, and a lot more fun to ride! (And to top it off I had a nice driver who was appreciative of me thanking him.)The 09 reg of SPs were beasts, SP62 and SP64 were very quick buses and don’t think they were limited. Sucks that they are all gone but hopefully they are preserved.

Do you know if Optares or BYDs are on order? I understand that BYDs were previously announced but wondered if this changed things. I’m Pretty Certain ADL Products Were Ordered Apparently More Electric Work Will Take Place At X Sometime This Year The latest ADL buses have options be charged at either AC at upto 80Kw, or DC at upto 150Kw or roof mounted opportunity charging at 300Kw I think Optare use the industry standard CCS (combined charging standard) system, so was more a case of BYD-ADL using non standard chargers, although I am sure these days can install dual system ones

Are you talking about the 10reg heaps that were on the 79? I think I speak for all drivers at BT when I say we would rather keep the ADEs. They can’t move because they’re tied to the H98, I am talking about the ex 111’s SPs (currently on 71). I don’t understand the issue with the 79’s SPs - they were in fantastic condition when at WK? I can only talk about whilst they were at BT and they were hated by everyone. Just very slow bunches of misery, only 194 & 196 were okay.

Whilst I had a good ride on a 10 reg example on the 79, I trust Volvo when he says they were pants given he was driving them daily - I can still remember his rants to this day Thank you VJ. Do you happen to remember which one it was, as I have to be fair there was two of them that were okay, 194 & 196.

BYD/ADL buses can use CCS2 chargers (like at Selkent).

It can happen as there are many times I have driven ADEs for example ADE20 I have driven around 15 times in the last 3 years and only 8 of those times the bus was actually good. ADE18 I had couple days ago and was trash, yet I have also driven that bus around 12 times and about 7 times it was a rocket.

Speaking of ADEs, it's been interesting to see how often the ADEs at AV have been sent out. 40307 has been out everyday since the schools ended, and has been out the most out of the 3 during term time. I'd hazard a guess that that one is most liked by drivers. 40305 has been also been out a lot too and 40306 hasn't been out since last Friday. Are there any updates as to when 40482-3 will be returned from their loan? (At least those were the ones due to be allocated to the 696, plans do change!) Some of the school routes at TV have just had their contracts renewed and specify hybrids going forward. I would expect there will be a number of VHs from the 45124-144 batch moving in during August. Some are away for refurb at the present time. That would allow the majority of ADEs to move out of TV. My hunch is they will go to AV to start a conversion of the H98 which will be completed once the 142 at BT is lost in January 2023.

Volvo know any more? 6 buses are parked here Monday to Saturday for the 142 and 6 buses on Sunday (4x 142 and 2x H12) due to lack of space at BT. Speaking of which, the good thing about this is you can choose any bus from what's available. This morning there were ADEs17, 36, 309 & ADH58. Ordinarily I would have taken the 67reg ADH however seeing as I had ADH61 yesterday on the H12 and I do usually get a 67reg when I do the H12s I decided to take ADE309. It wasn't as quick as when I drove it couple weeks ago, it was a bit slower to pull away but overall still a good bus and far better than any of the other ADEs atm, which all need some TLC tbh. Also for some reason the images on the monitor were switched around so when looking at the upper deck it was as if looking at a LHD bus was doing my OCD in.

Do you then have to take your bus (in this case ADE40309) back to the same place or back to BT garage?

So X is going to have both Optare and BYD EVs by October interesting 🤔 AL already has both BYD/ADL and Optare electrics and they will have 27 more E200EV's on order for the 163/164 in the next few months, X soon will join AL of having BYD/ADL and Optare electrics.
