I think the 110 would be a good contender for taking up space at V once the 218 leaves. So far the on the single deck front V has DLE30316-26(283 batch) / DLE30339-47(272 batch) /DME30361-72(440 batch) and DE20116 and DLE30140/141 as spares. Noticed too that DE20108 has moved over to V to in the last few days. I'm guessing DE20094/5 and DE20150-6 will move back to X as a stop gap. is the 272 not operated from S? No. 272 is operated from V.

I reckon the 218 is moving to X to free up some space for the 220 (and potentially the 110) to move into V, seeing as RP is closing and the future of AV is uncertain. Isn't it possible for the 220 to go to JE? Wandsworth is no longer on the London United licence so it would need to be added. It’s not inconceivable but depends on whether there is space and whether it’s deemed economic to have all the TfL paraphernalia for one route.

There's no real need to do so for the 220, other RATP garages are well located for the route if RP closes, and have the space. I think V would make the most sense, giving a common fleet of hybrids with the E3. However, I do think it would be worth considering returning JE to a TFL garage - this time fully for TFL services (unlike when the 28 was there). It could be a strategic location and allow RATP to bid for more routes in this area, which wouldn't otherwise be feasible from S/V/X/etc. Particularly with nearby garages QB and AF at full capacity. The sightseeing operations could then move to Westbourne Park, which has plenty of space and is well located for Central London.

RATP has enough trouble managing the routes it has and isn’t going particularly well in its traditional heartlands. I don’t think adding the insecurity of an isolated depot with limited opportunities in the area would really help. It’s better to keep the sightseeing business, which is entirely separate from the TfL side with a separate MD and management team, isolated on its own. No need to muddle things when WD can really only hold 60 vehicles, possibly a lot less with proper TfL approved EV infrastructure.

Since the contract on the 414 expires by the end of today, and there's still no news about the public consultation or tender results. I wonder what will happen tomorrow?

I would be quite shocked, but ultimately not surprised if there's no 414 service tomorrow. After all there was the case where nobody told Stagecoach to cease operating the 588 and Arriva ran the N242 when Stagecoach was meant to take over. More realistically I imagine the contract will have been temporarily extended, probably even amended to suit some of RATPs terms seeing as they wanted it terminated early but it will have to continue for a bit longer.

I did wonder if TFL would rush this consultation through so they had an answer 2 weeks ago which I think is the minimum time for a bus change. Ultimately thou the consultation mentioned early 2025 so I think we can assume a conversation was had for RATP to continue till next year regardless of the result.

Did X's and LI's fleet switch around before or after TT got sold off, and was there any particular reason why?

Did X's and LI's fleet switch around before or after TT got sold off, and was there any particular reason why? Buses had a common blindset between West and East. There were cases of temporary loans as far as I can remember.

Yes basically all the VNs at X under RATP now were the native LI ones, while LI has kept a mix of the ones from both garages.

And for the one weekend a year; Notting Hill Carnival, for which the then Lea Interchange based DN33786 (Aug 2016) was one of the loans across west to assist with the 23. That vehicle would actually make the permanent move west at the start of 2018.
