I think the 110 would be a good contender for taking up space at V once the 218 leaves. So far the on the single deck front V has DLE30316-26(283 batch) / DLE30339-47(272 batch) /DME30361-72(440 batch) and DE20116 and DLE30140/141 as spares. Noticed too that DE20108 has moved over to V to in the last few days. I'm guessing DE20094/5 and DE20150-6 will move back to X as a stop gap. is the 272 not operated from S? No. 272 is operated from V.

I reckon the 218 is moving to X to free up some space for the 220 (and potentially the 110) to move into V, seeing as RP is closing and the future of AV is uncertain. Isn't it possible for the 220 to go to JE? Wandsworth is no longer on the London United licence so it would need to be added. It’s not inconceivable but depends on whether there is space and whether it’s deemed economic to have all the TfL paraphernalia for one route.

There's no real need to do so for the 220, other RATP garages are well located for the route if RP closes, and have the space. I think V would make the most sense, giving a common fleet of hybrids with the E3. However, I do think it would be worth considering returning JE to a TFL garage - this time fully for TFL services (unlike when the 28 was there). It could be a strategic location and allow RATP to bid for more routes in this area, which wouldn't otherwise be feasible from S/V/X/etc. Particularly with nearby garages QB and AF at full capacity. The sightseeing operations could then move to Westbourne Park, which has plenty of space and is well located for Central London.

RATP has enough trouble managing the routes it has and isn’t going particularly well in its traditional heartlands. I don’t think adding the insecurity of an isolated depot with limited opportunities in the area would really help. It’s better to keep the sightseeing business, which is entirely separate from the TfL side with a separate MD and management team, isolated on its own. No need to muddle things when WD can really only hold 60 vehicles, possibly a lot less with proper TfL approved EV infrastructure.
