SM Coaches of Harlow have registered some peculiar new routes from 19th June 2011.
They have registered a new route between Loughton and Harlow, service 19A. At first, I assumed this may operate on Mon-Sat daytimes in competition with route 555. But no, it will operate in competition with Essex CC contract service 541 on evenings and Sundays! Unlike the 541 though, it will also operate a 2-hourly service on Saturdays to Harlow, as well as an extra journey on Mon-Fri evenings operating past midnight!
A Sunday service will also be added to existing route 20 (Harlow-Epping-Ongar), in competition with Essex CC route 501. Also, they have registered a route 381, operating in competition with a lightly-used Essex CC service also numbered 381.
Not sure if SM will be successful with this, competing with many lightly used services (although the Essex CC services 541 and 501 are actually quite busy on Sundays) .
