Wonder what will happen to the drivers at Sullivans who drive TFL routes?
Tbh I quite like the company as they only operate Diesels. Not to forget that I have had many issues with the 298 not turning up!

Not to forget that I have had many issues with the 298 not turning up! They could TUPE over with the routes to another operator. They can drive their Herts routes if they need drivers in that department. They can retire. They can find a new job. They can go on Britain’s Got Talent and meet Simon Cowell. The possibilities are endless.

Not to forget that I have had many issues with the 298 not turning up! It will be several years before all the current tenders end! The 217 renewed in 2022 and other routes might be eligible for extensions. As for the drivers they could move to the commercial routes or might move with the routes as they are lost on tender.

It’s honestly not surprising. I believe SB will pull away from any high pvr routes or maybe all.. Dean Sullivan did say that Sullivans will no longer be bidding for TFL work. This is sad but not surprising , the markets not made for small independents especially now with all this electrification, even big companies have struggled as it ultimately has became about keeping costs as low as possible instead of quality etc , eventually it will be just the big players ( and that's if they stick around ) .

Regarding route 356 between Winchmore Hill and Nicholas Breakspear school, the latest TLB mentions this service will be controlled by TfL. Any idea what this means?

I know TfL issues the LSP but I was wondering why TLB would mention that the route will be controlled by TfL. They don’t mention this for any other new routes that have been granted LSPs. Dean has stated elsewhere that the route is purely commercial

Dean has stated elsewhere that the route is purely commercial If "controlled" is the actual word used, then TLB has got it wrong (which is unusual). However as the route is being extended to Winchmore Hill in September it needs a new or an amended London Service Permit from TfL. This is no different to registering a service with the Traffic Commissioner's Office outside London.

What's gonna happen with route 298 once Sullivan pulls out of London, will it stay with Sullivans & just become a non-TFL route or will it go to another London operator?

Sullivan Buses isn't pulling out of London. Even if they were, the 298 is a TfL tendered route so would be reassigned to another London operator via emergency contract or tender award depending on the circumstances at that time.
