I do wonder at what point TfL say "no sorry, that's enough- we're terminating your contracts for failure to deliver" Has that ever happened before? I don't think it is has ever happened that way, TfL prefer to penalise the Operator financially and tough luck to the poor passengers who get the poor service. Only Operator failure has led to contract termination.

WLV1 was seen today tearing down the safety barriers at Borhamwood Tesco. Really tells the type of quality the drivers are within Sullivan. I don't think it's fair to tarnish every driver they have with the same brush. I did a 549 today - he wore full uniform, arrived in Loughton on time, left on time and stuck strictly to his running time (a bit too much IMO to where we were doing less than 20mph on 30mph roads at times but he stuck within his times) and waited patiently whilst an old man was alighting the bus to which the driver was promptly thanked by him. That was in stark contrast to my last 298 ride which was completely the opposite - horrifically long wait, the driver who was finishing had a little bit of attitude when asked a question by a passenger, driver who took over was nice and polite but neither him or his other colleague wore uniform. It should be noted the provincial side of the business has not seen much slander at all despite all the woes happening on the TfL side of the business.

From Dean on Facebook:
After a discussion with TfL this afternoon, we have decided to withdraw from all TfL contracts effectively from Close of Traffic tonight. I have been concerned for sometime about TfLs ability to ensure that the remuneration for their contracts keeps pace with the costs of service delivery. As the country recovered from Covid we saw a significant spike in inflation and a rise in traffic congestion. As a result we were looking for investment and a suitable cost adjustment to counter the effects on our customers, staff & business. Theres more details on this in my press release which I will post in due course. We have enjoyed working in London, but in a recent meeting with TfL they made it very clear that Sullivan Buses were an unwelcome partner in the delivery of services in London. Its now so severe that we can no longer ignore the message.
We will continue with Commercial - and we will grow Commercial. I have missed many opertunites along the way as a result of perhaps being too focused on TfL work. My heart is in all three (TfL, Rail & Commercial) but they all need to be sustainable and of course you need to feel 'included'. Sadly with TfL of late we have felt very excluded.

This is big. Who will take on the routes at such short notice? Speculation on my part but logically Stagecoach could probably take over the 549 early? They have the new 549 / W14 from next month.
Big news indeed!

This is big. Who will take on the routes at such short notice? Maybe TFL do a South Thames Bus esque thing?

This is sad to see but Sullivan Bus are not in ‘the club’ so it was inevitable at some point. I suspect others are also getting tired

This is big. Who will take on the routes at such short notice? "Back in the day" Blue Triangle would probably have been parachuted in, along with First Capital to take over the routes. As it's School Holiday time, perhaps Uno could step in to assist. I have to say, whilst its sad to see an operator leave London, Sullivans haven't exactly covered themselves in glory in recent times in terms of service delivery, vehicle presentation etc. Not all of that is TfLs fault.

This is big. Who will take on the routes at such short notice? Wouldn’t be hugely surprised if you find all of Sullivan’s TfL routes do not operate tomorrow, as TfL go into some sort of panic mode trying to scrabble buses/operators together.

Unfortunate, but was expected to happen sooner or later. My concern is with the 217, I wonder what will happen with it, and the other routes!

However who actually has the capacity? NP already have the 299, 389 & 399 on the way but no buses to run it currently.

Wonder if there was an contingency plan discussed or in motion from TfL side for others to pick up work at such short notice? Seems this was on cards for an while?
I am not familiar with Sullivans work on the TfL side. Strikes me as strange to make comments that they “were an unwelcome partner”. They couldn’t meet the low costs unlike other operators that ate going through simular motions? In short effectively pushed out. 😕
