If all the rumours you hear are true....if they bid low for the routes they have to pay low....
Still wrong though...

Looks like a poorly researched article to me. I'm guessing the article has been exaggerated, like the Daily Fail do with a lot of stories. Would be interesting to know how true this is. The story sounds a bit strange to me. "...new Routemaster that we now understand is likely to be driven by a large number of Poles " - what do they mean by 'large number' exactly? Theres only going to be a small handful of these Borismasters!

Whether the article is right or wrong, if I was an employer, I would employ foreigners before English people. I'm both English and Polish and have lived here all my life but people in this country don't want to work. We have so many people on benefits because they are lazy arses. At least the foreigners want to work and they would do any job without fuss.

A bit unfair there are plenty of ENGLISH people that want jobs but FOREIGNERS will work for peanuts! and employers exploit this....

Worked from the day I left school........

As a foreigner, who lived in the UK for 4 years (and no I didn't take one of YOUR jobs, I was working on contract for my Australian company), I always laugh when I read stories like this and then see the reaction of the English.
Simple fact is you choose to join the EU. You get a lot of financial benefit from the EU, yet you still want to maintain your own nationalistic ideals and then complain about foreigners (mostly European) who come and take your jobs. You cannot have it both ways I am afraid, so the solution is to leave the EU, at your peril of course and then you can keep your jobs, or accept that being a member of the EU means foreigners can take your jobs as well as bring benifit to the UK.
Also the UK media knows full well the underlying resentment to this, so rather than report the facts they always put a spin on stories such as this, which in turns whips up even more resentment and sells more papers. Take this article for example, it is about Abellio and tries to somehow link their decision to recruit offshore specifically to the Borismaster. What exactly do these two have in common, has Abellio even ordered/been allocated ANY Borismasters. As I said spin to whip up nationalistic fury and sell papers based on melodramatic headlines.
It saddens me to think the worst offender of this was born in Australia and his (fathers) company was once Australia's largest publicly listed company. Thankfully he had eyes on the US market so became a US citizen, thus giving up his Australian citizenship in the process and taking his company with him.

Worked from the day I left school........ Not exactly. You have two types of people on benefits which are: a) The people who have no desire to work and there are many b) The people who actually need benefits such as people with disabilitys

Britain needs to stop blaming foreigners about jobs because this is what drives racial segregation. I want to see a multi cultural Britain that works with each other, not female doging about 'foreigners taking jobs'. They get the jobs simply because they want it more. Many people in this country just stay at home, smoking drugs and drinking, making 24 babies a week so they get a free house and then stay on benefits which is taxpayer funded for the rest of their life and many make that choice rather than working. As I said, I'm English & Polish as well as Irish & Latvian. I was born in this country and I only speak English.

They're too busy waiting to get onto Jeremy Kyle ;D As for the Daily Wail's article, they've edited it and it doesn't mention Abellio as the operator of the new LT's. I'm sure the Daily Wail, who also produce the Evening Standard ran an article on the new Borismaster when it was showcased in December, and there was a pic, complete with Arriva logos

Some of these posts against English workers are borderline racist and a bit shocking considering this is a bus forum!

Saying that English people are too lazy is not racism as it mentions sweet FA about race and anyway it's fact otherwise we wouldn't have a benefit system that is continually milked.

I've been a hiring manager for two years in two jobs, and I totally agree with VJ. I have people turning up in track suit bottoms to interviews and that's the best we get! And a lot of the time - English people don't really give much of a toss about the job. Which is the total opposite of the majority of foreigners that work bloody hard for their money. It's never EVER race over work quality; there are too many safeguards against that.
