I didn't drive yesterday But the fastest I done is 90mph along croydon road in mitcham common. I was in a hurry to get to work (was at merton at the time). Also rented a golf tdi and I was curious of the acceleration as it was pretty fast, so I put my foot down and managed to reach 60mph fairly quickly going along croydon road in anerley (towards norwood junction). Must of done it in a few seconds or so. What part of brockley was you driving in anyway?

I was on the train. I was hoping there was someone who had managed to get some speed in a London bus somewhere on that day...

Regarding a bus, I recall actually doing over 60 mph on a mcw metrobus while I was learning with thames valley training. Im sure I hit 70mph but not sure. I was heading somewhere along the A2 going towards gillingham. I remember going down a lengthy doward incline before going up a slip road away from the A2. I remember the signs saying medway towers or tunnel After passing my test I don't think I ever reached over 55mph on a bus as some are not able to go any faster or I just don't have enough road space. The last time I did over 45mph was going up westmorland road in bromley on a N3 (was driving a ALX400 trident). Got to the top and turned right onto hayes lane. Looked at my mirror and noticed a police car Needless to say I was pulled over. The only reason why I possibly got away from losing my job is due to the fact that no one was on board my bus

I have hit 65 in Quality lines DD13 while on the X26 diversion and the engine at full rev's but it still felt as if the bus could do more but you could feel the wind blowing the body about which is quite scary, Hit 59.6mph in a B9TL/Gemini 1.5 on the X1 and 64.2 in a scania/E400 on the X4

I've been in 9403 travelling at 67mph. As buses aren't allowed to do more than 60, I can't remember where or when that was!
Yesterday, TA219 at 56mph along the A30 in Staines and the M4.

I've on an Omnidekka, Volvo Citybus, Dart, Dartmaster & an open top Stagecoach Volvo Olympian at full tilt but all these were along motorways. The fastest bus I've been on along urban roads was an L class Olympian on the 249 between Crown Point & Church Road where it hit high revs along Beulah Hill - this was around 2003.

Had always thought Quality Line's Trident were speed restricted between 30 and 40mph. The fastest Red London bus I have driven was ex-Stockwell's PDL class Tridents Which showed 65 miles an hour on the speedo When I was light running along the A3 to/from Tolworth Broadway Blinded for the N77. Like your DD13 It has the same four speed Voith transmission.

I managed to get one on the A3 to 55mph under one of the A3 underpasses (the exit where the 265 comes off for New Malden (towards Putney Bridge)). Would love to have driven one As fast you have driven it.

The metrobuses I trained on wouldn't reach 50 mph as they had the standard 3 speed gearbox.
Yesterday - nothing in particular - i was trying to get a picture of recent events rather than something achieved in years gone by. Many routes have so many traffic lights and/or slow buses that fast running seems to be a thing of the past.
60 mph achieved again today on 4 separate occasions - there isn't a limiter to stop it going faster.

Achieved 90MPH today comfortably with an 8-coach (2 x 4 car) 4-CIG unit(s) on a semi-fast to Brighton.

I've done 57mph, crushed up against the assault screen on a euro_2 TNL on the 607 down the Uxbridge Road. That was an experience ;D I've done 62-65mph numerous times on DMP's & DML's (both Marshall & Enviro) on the A10 down the M4. I've also maxed out on LLW's - Dennis Lance, MA's - Merc 811D and M's when I did my work experience at Uxbridge Garage. The engineer I was paired with said that most UX Metro's would max out at 48mph.

The metrobuses I trained on wouldn't reach 50 mph as they had the standard 3 speed gearbox. Most Metrobus have 3 spd Voith boxes, only a few had the more unusual boxes around at the time.
