The metrobuses I trained on wouldn't reach 50 mph as they had the standard 3 speed gearbox. London General's trainer Metrobuses were also three speeders despite being able to to 65mph.

A few exceptions were the dedicated Airbuses which were four speed Voith. Also, BN had at least one Metro which had the same box as the Titans.

I know some had Maxwell gearboxes but I've no idea how many spd they came in?

I've done 57mph, crushed up against the assault screen on a euro_2 TNL on the 607 down the Uxbridge Road. That was an experience ;D I've done 62-65mph numerous times on DMP's & DML's (both Marshall & Enviro) on the A10 down the M4. I've also maxed out on LLW's - Dennis Lance, MA's - Merc 811D and M's when I did my work experience at Uxbridge Garage. The engineer I was paired with said that most UX Metro's would max out at 48mph. I believe that goes for most of the ex London Transport Metros with them being governed at 50mph approx.

Achieved 90MPH today comfortably with an 8-coach (2 x 4 car) 4-CIG unit(s) on a semi-fast to Brighton. Have you got some sort of time machine? I remember travelling home from a ferry trip one afternoon in the late '90s and a signal failure stranded us at Dover Priory for an hour and a half. There was a 4-VEP stabled at the end of platform 1 which suddenly moved up the platform to the 4 car stop and they then announced that it was working fast up to Ashford. Well they must have been finishing as we shot round Hawkesbury Street Curve at at least 35mph and made Ashford in 18 minutes! As for driving, I did get a Commercial Department NV up to 65mph between Oval and Stockwell along Clapham Road at 4 o'clock one morning! (I was finishing) Moz

Sort of thanks to Railworks4 (Train Simulator 2013) (Cabview heading away from Clapham Junction - 55mph) (Arrival at Brighton)

I love the scenery in rail works and when I get a decent pc ill probably get it. The sounds are never right though. The Electrostar sound is way off lol. Even in the million pound simulator which I think is based on rail works the sound isn't perfect lol.
