What would be your suggestions for routes that should have a better service level on Sundays because their current usage levels result in full loads or overcrowding?
I would nominate the 149 (always jam packed on Sundays) and the 123 (needs an extra 1 bph during the daytime as many buses are close to fully loaded).
I look foward to your suggestions and reasons why more buses are needed.

The issue with this country is its very backward with Sundays, its now the 2nd busiest shopping day of the week. The 126 could do with being boosted to every 15 mins, the 314 to every 20 mins, the B16 to every 20 mins, the 132 to every 15 mins to name a few.

A cheaper option can also be to use spare DDs on SD routes on sunday then driver numbers would not need to be increased yet capacity can be increased and make use of often spare new DDs.
The 81 used to do it and A often put DDs on the 80 and 164. Im not sure if the 289 still uses DDs on Sundays.

The 117 is a very suitable route for an enhancement on weekdays let alone Sundays!

Earlier I saw DML44183 on the 195 doing a perfect impression of the route on Sundays: Full up close to the windscreen. Frequency is every 15 minutes but it is not uncommon to find 2 close together. Monday - Saturday it is every 12 minutes and it often struggles then too. It is the only route from Southall that goes to Bull's Bridge Tesco and the Sunday market that takes place opposite that (unless you take the 105 and walk a bit), and to Hayes town centre.

The 152 could do with that routine, if in practice there are enough spare buses from the 157. If not then at least partial double deckers on running numbers rhat are in theory likely to have the busiest pickups.

The 117 is a very suitable route for an enhancement on weekdays let alone Sundays! The frequency on both the 117 and 203 is confusingly low. As is many routes in South West London... Take the 279 for example, it runs to Waltham Cross (probably the Hertfordshire equivelant of Staines, with double deckers running every 6 minutes Mon-Sat and every 10-11 mins Suns and Eves, and has an alternative night bus (the N279-famed for being the only Night bus to run beyond the Greater London boundry) Now look at Staines, ALL four TfL routes (117/203/216/290) run every 20 minutes Monday-Saturday and half hourly on Sundays. I'm not saying make all Staines services that frequent, but at least give half of the services a decent frequency, plus an idea for the N237 could work (via route 117 beyond Hounslow Heath), say every 12 minutes. In addition, the Greater Anglia services now except Oystercards beyond Zone 6 (to Chesunt/Waltham Cross and SHENFIELD!) Now, in SW London, you cant use your Oyster beyond Feltham, Hampton (the Shepperton branch could EASILY fit into Zone 6) and Surbiton. I believe it would be fairer if you had an Oyster PAYG zone to say Staines, Woking and even in Kent (Sevenoaks). Earlier I saw DML44183 on the 195 doing a perfect impression of the route on Sundays: Full up close to the windscreen. Frequency is every 15 minutes but it is not uncommon to find 2 close together. Nowadays many people don't see Sunday as a rest day (more as an extra day to do things) I think, like in Scotland, Sunday Trading Hours should be up to the company/organisation to deal with. I once took the Piccadilly line on a Sunday, at about two-ish. It was standing room from South Kensington all the way to Hounslow East.

The 279 only has that frequency because of the densely populated places it serves within London - 20 years ago, it would of probably turned 2 buses somewhere in North London and let the other run straight through to Waltham Cross. In comparison, the four Staines routes do not serve as many populated areas although I agree that at least one of those routes should more frequent than 20 mins.
I've always found it weird that most of West London beyond Richmond & Chiswick is made up almost entirely of single deck routes. Double deck routes are fairly thin on the ground and I think that's an issue.

I personally think certain routes serving Cemetery's should have a frequency increase on Sundays. The 284 every year is at its busiest on Mother's Day! This is because many people want Hither Green Cemetery & Grove Park Cemetery

The 154 and 157 could do with an increase during shopping hours, four buses an hour rather than the current three, and same with the 89 which seems busy, certainly at the Lewisham end.
The 468 certainly needs to be more than every 12 minutes, why not combine it with the 68 on Sundays, Euston to South Croydon every 7/8 minutes?

The 18 needs a enhancement on Sundays because it can get very packed.

Not to be picky but route 290 actually has a x20 minute frequency on Sunday's....never quite sure why this is, it seems to be the least used of all Staines routes. The 117 could definitely do with an increase and this would also help out the 235. Like the idea of a N237 but an x30 minute frequency would be adequate. None of this will happen though, there isnt the money in the budget for service enhancements like this (especially cross-border services)

428 I think could go to x20 mins on a Sunday. And a Sunday service on the B12 is long overdue.
