Mitcham Road is presently closed yet again with another burst water main in more or less the same spot, same diversion/curtailments as before Mitcham Road reopened Oof finally, thought ocurred to me though - for 280/264 at least, wondering why they got diverted through Tooting Bec and Streatham, when they could in theory go up Longley Road and Renmiur Street to get to Tooting Station. Do you think it's because they don't want to miss out Tooting Broadway, or are there road restrictions etc as obviously 44/77 use the top half of Longley Road/Renmiur Street?

I don’t think it would be safe to have double deck buses using Longley Road, it is very thin with parked cars on both sides, and Tooting Broadway is too major of an objective to miss. If buses could go down there then I’d imagine 264/280 deadruns from Blackshaw Road towards C and GM would be being using it already

I'm actually surprised there aren't any official street signs by now to enforce it.

The road closures in Forest Gate are still in place and might be for a while longer as it came on the news a couple of days ago. Personally, any other building fire, the roads would be open by now, particularly with no casualties. Considering the width of the pavement on that side of Romford Road as well. Police occasionally don't consider other road users in incidents and this might be a big example of that.
It does give more time for stats on the diverted routes 58,330 which I believe one should be permanent.

Everything westbound (15, 26, 76 341, N15, N21, N26, N89, N199, N550 and N551) on Fleet Street/Strand seems to be diverted to Fetter Lane, New Fetter Lane, High Holborn and Kingsway because the road is closed due to roadworks. I've seen an N21 barrelling down Fetter Lane and New Fetter Lane and a 26 squeezing past parked cars on Chancery Lane.
