New Malden High Street is closed northbound from the roundabout to Blagdon Road. K1 is curtailed to stand at the 152 stand and the 213 is on diversion northbound via Burlington Road, Beverly Way and Kingston Bypass, Coombe Lane West and Traps Lane. Diversion on until May 28th.
Shockingly and unsurprisingly Thames Water gave no warning to TfL so the stops weren’t closed officially until 10.30am this morning with the diversion in place from 4.30am this morning. Hopefully traffic won’t be too heavy as the High Street exit of the fountain is the lightest used and there are other ways for cars to get around it quite easily.

Pedestrian works at the Marylebone Flyover junction mean buses on route 16 cannot make the turn from Edgware Road to Harrow Road. As a result, southbound buses are diverted via Clifton Gardens and Warwick Avenue.
Stops missed: Orchardson Street (EA), Church Street Market (EB), Edgware Road Station (EC), Edgware Road (EW), Hermitage Street (B) Dates: 13/5/24-26/7/24

Whilst no other buses are being diverted, there are I would say severe delays on the 18, 27, 30, 88, 205, 453.

Hilldene Avenue in Harold Hill closed after some RTC / police incident. 174 and 256 both double deck routes using Chatteris Avenue. I believe it's the first time double decks have used this road.

It's not the first time a double decker has used the road. A couple of years ago I was on a 174, whose driver didn't know there was a diversion away from Hilldene Avenue so he had to use Chatteris Avenue (the actual diversion route was through the 256 and 499 line of route through Noak Hill).

Gridlock will again do harm to the network in some cases possibly permanent.

Woolwich Road (Dual carriageway) closed westbound for approximately 5 days due to emergency gas works. 161,171,180,472 and N1 diverting from Woolwich Ferry Roundabout, L South Circular Road, R Wellington Street, Ahead to The Village then Right Charlton Church Lane to the end where buses will go ahead or left depending on their route.
It's going to be chaos on Charlton Church Road as this road is narrow at the best of times with limited passing spaces. Now with all buses and diverting cars this road is going to surely end up with a total blockage at some point as driving standards along this road is appalling. Drivers will try to keep coming even when their road ahead is blocked due to other vehicles being blocked due to parked vehicles.

Can they not use Frances Street (the one used by the 380) to get back to LOR? While admittedly the road is somewhat narrow near the junction with hill reach / repository road / wellington street, buses will only use it one way so should be much easier + the road after that is broad enough. Charlton church lane on the other hand will be carnage with so many buses on the 161, 177, 180 and 472 going through it

Oxford Street and Regent street area closed meaning buses are curtailed or diverted.
Routes like the 88 and 453 are diverted via Tottenham Court Road. Also spotted a 24 running via Holborn.

Route 240 was diverted via Lawrence Street earlier today, possibly the first time DDs have been authorised to travel down this road in service (albeit in one direction only).

Northbound 264, 270, 280 and 355 are presently on a double diversion. In addition to the ongoing planned diversion via Mitcham Eastfields buses then immediately divert via Streatham Road and Southcroft Road. This is in relation to a building fire along the Figgs Marsh section of London Road

This is in relation to a building fire along the Figgs Marsh section of London Road I think some 270s are turning at Mapleton Road and using the 28/220 stand which allows them to skip two of the busiest stops in Wandsworth and the light run to Ram Street, saving time but leading to heavy loads on the 44 which is already struggling. The 270 must be one of the most shambolic routes of 2024 at this rate with little fault to TUK.

When I drove it with Metros and PVLs it was twenty-nine minutes at night towards Mitcham Cricketers, taking also into account those early W reg PVLs were much slower than the route's present MMC E40Ds
