I made a huge mistake taking the 280 today, it is absolutely disastrous in Mitcham. The traffic around Eastfields is absurd with a temp light system setup at the roundabout with London and Streatham Roads plus multiple different side roads constantly adding to the traffic and the level crossing causing usual chaos. Now I can see why 270s are turning to Wandsworth in the masses, we spent so much time completely still on Eastfields Road.
It took my bus nearly 1 hour to go from Mitcham Tram Stop to Blackshaw Road, which is longer than an e2e trip is timetabled for...

Some sort of event is going on at Selhurst Stadium so Park Road is closed. As a result 130 is cut back to Norwood Junction and 468 is further diverted via Selhurst Station.
Side note: the traffic here is atrocious. I’ve seen a long line of cars and buses at a standstill but the pedestrians somehow outnumber them. The 75 and 157s I have walked past are filled to the brim as well

Thames Water will be conducting almost 2 miles of pipe replacement between Balham and Blackshaw Road (located between Colliers Wood and Tooting Broadway) from July 2024 to September 2025, includes lane closures, side road closures and temporary lights on the main road.
TfL are making a decision regarding if diverting any routes under the reasoning of congestion/standstill traffic will be necessary

All five routes are going up Oldfields Road all the way to the junction with Belmont Rise, doesn’t often see a bus route so I’ve forgotten how nice the houses are there. They have been doing gas works on the junction for a while but only on the pedestrian area, clearly have escalated as of today. Thankfully as people aren’t being warned until they hit Cheam Village traffic levels on the diversion are more or less unaffected.

There is however a bit of surface water on Eastfields Road near the level crossing so presumably Thames Water may likely close the road and divert traffic once London Road's fully reopened

Interesting diversion earlier on the 248 and 370 due to a collision near Upminster Bridge Station.
248 - From High Street, R Station Lane circumnavigate roundabout, L High Street, R North Street, A Butts Green Road, A Ardleigh Green Road, R Southend Arterial Road, R Hall Lane, turn around at Upminster Station, back up Station Road LOR. Same in reverse.
370 - From Upminster Road, R Hacton Lane, L Gaynes Park Road, R Corbets Tey Road LOR. Same in reverse.
I don't think I've ever heard of 370 using this diversion before, it certainly is an interesting one. I'm suprised it was even approved as Hacton Lane is very tight and there's low/overgrown trees near to The Optimist pub.

For roughly 5 days.

On the flip side the Amen Corner area lose their link to Mitcham and Figgs Marsh is effectively busless. Mind you if resources could be spared a temporary shuttle service could run from Tooting: Saint George's Hospital to Figgs Marsh via the 127 routing along Southcroft Rd and Streatham Road...returning via the 264/280 along London Road back to the hospital

Due to bridge works for the Parkland Walk over Stanhope Road in Crouch End, route W5 will be diverted. Buses will take the western end of Shepherds Hill and Archway Road to approach Archway, not serving Stanhope Road, Hornsey Lane and Whittingdon Hospital. Buses will most likely use the 41/234 stand and pick up at stop Archway Station (G).
Stops missed: Archway Station (C, E), Whittingdon Hospital/Magdala Avenue (A, B), Highgate Hill/Hornsey Lane (HT), Cromwell Avenue (HR, HU), Archway Bridge (HP, HV), Fitzwarren Gardens, Hornsey Lane Dates: 17/6/24-29/7/24

Doesn't look too bad on StreetView; 370 drivers are well used to these sorts of roads as one of their regular diversion routes takes them via Stubbers Lane, Dennises Lane and Dennis Road which seem similar in character if not slightly tighter (at the bends).

The 151/213/SL7 are going on diversion via Stonecot Hill between I'm assuming Sutton and North Cheam?
