But yes lots make up the backbone of some services across their ops. If it is, then I was very lucky as it was only a fleeting glimpse as it roared past on the 60A. As for the TN's & TNL's, most bit the dust during the big upgrade programme a couple of years back when swatches of brand new MMC's swarmed in with the Volvo Gemini's (mix of hoover B7TL's and much quieter B9TL's) new to Glasgow now forming the bulk of many of the town routes as well as the lovely Enviro 300's on the 2 and some B7RLE's and even a Pointer Dart.

First's commitment to their service in Glasgow is definitely one that they should be proud of, not only that but the introduction of Bright Bus Tours using relatively low cost stock providing an alternative to Lothian Buses Sightseeing services. If only they put that effort into their London services...
First Kernow is another one that is one to watch, when you see what it was like even before the introduction of their 66/18 reg MMCs it had a completely different picture and the number of new tour services and brands using relatively low cost stock is a very positive enterpeurenial approach.

In London's contracted system, as long as you meet the contractual requirements you get paid, so you don't spend anything more than absolutely necessary as it does not bring in any extra revenue. Whereas in the deregulated rest of the country, having an attractive bus service & vehicles could increase passenger numbers and therefore increase revenue, so it is worth spending money as it is likely to mean more money coming in.
Some of First's commercial operations were terrible with a lack of investment, which was mainly due to the London operation demanding approx 50% of the new vehicles each year but London only brought in less than 25% of the annual profits. First got rid of the London ops and then was able to invest in their commercial operations, with huge numbers of new vehicles for the Glasgow, Leeds & Bristol operations.

I agree Londons operations weren't profitable hence why LI and X were sold together.

Former WVL371 is now moving to First Kernow. That batch after almost 2 years has now all sold.
Though picture shows WVL377 the only one left is WVL371 as WVL377 was sold to some company in Inverness /photo/1
