What a (insert appropriate word(s) here) waste! Yet Arriva has 10+ year old SDs running around in London, which has some of the UKs strictest age restrictions in terms of buses! At least sell them to Abellio, who would make use of them even with Ciclo seats!! Roaming around Kingston are former Connex TA77/Abellio 9777 KU02YBM (complete with appropriate reg number) and another Metroline TP (358) LR52KVZ have been acquired by OFJ for KU buses. Hopefully more will be bought getting rid of the horrid Scanias on the route.

However because the extension to Balham was uncertain it was not known how many new buses were to be ordered. It made better sense to use the existing ones. Now that the extension has gone through (quite a bit of time into the contract mind you) it's not really worth ordering those outstanding buses unless Arriva retain the route on a new contract.

Plus it's currently on a 2 year extension. I'm glad the Euro II DWL's are still around - actually can't believe I've rode the 51 reg at four different garages - BN on the 319, TC on the 166, 312 & 407, TH on the 289 & 255 and whatever garage the 298 was run by in North London.

I watched my first episode of EastEnders since 2010 on February 19th, apart from one last year that I was roped into watching by my friends I was staying with. I watched it last week as there had been so much fanfare surrounding the revelation of Lucy's killer. I noticed her board M1386 on route 30 heading for Trafalgar Square. It is easy to forget that route 30 was diverted to Trafalgar Square in 1991-92 to cover the King's Cross - Trafalgar Square link served previously by route 77a and subsequently by route 91.

Totally agree, They have been left dual door as they are only expected to have a 2-3 year life span before withdrawal and the cost of single door conversion cannot be justified. At least they are fairing better then some ex London Tridents which are being stripped for spares at Hull depot.

I'm lost here - why are they ruined? I'm guessing but .... Not in red Not in London Don't have fabric blinds Not running where Connor can catch them I think it's called "enthusiast nostalgia syndrome" Known to afflict all transport enthusiasts on some basis. We all want some aspect of yesterday's transport to still exist today.
