Former London Central Volvo PVL247 is now converted into a tree cutting unit, now numbered 1947 under firm Son Of Vlad on the Isle of Wight. That bus when it was at NX was an absolute rocket. I was so happy one time when it was on the 36 and 171.

Hi folks
This is mostly for the East London people on here but if anyone can answer this then that would be great. So watching the 25 video from 1999 brought back a whole heap of memories around that era.
I remembered those Presidents having blinds for the 25, 179, 369 and 123 but strangely I never saw them appear on the Romford routes I.e the 165, 252, 365 or 296. Same thing for the ALX400s they never appeared on those routes (unless they did and I didn't see it)
I wonder why this was the case?
I know the 51-reg Presidents went on near enough every route at Dagenham/Rainham

Perhaps they wanted to keep those nice shiny new buses looking good for their intended central London work (1 and 25).
Some of the 51-reg Tridents were bought for the 179/252/365 so had to appear on those routes!

That I get but I was somewhat surprised it appearing on the 369 in particular considering Thames View Estate when they had the high rises by the end of Bastable Avenue was not a pleasant place to go to at night. The 179 I can understand them appearing on that route as it didn't go through an area prone to Vandalism. The 123 hahaha yeah the jury's out on that one with some of the areas it goes through.

I think the ALX 400s had wider than normal blinds so maybe they only had limited routes to keep costs down?

I miss those days though and now we have to get used to the electric buses. Hopefully there's multiple types being introduced as time goes on.

Looking at the way it says via tower I'm going to say they're from the 51-reg Plaxton Tridents.

As some of you will know, some GA London E & WVL types went to Go North East.
I was in the area earlier this week and saw several at Gateshead, especially on routes linking Gateshead and Heworth. As none had been refurbished, although some are repainted, I shunned these in favour of an ex-London route 22 WVL which had GoNE moquette similar to GAL but with the word Go superimposed on it a few times.
I was also in Edinburgh too. As Lothian Buses have ordered 50 Volvo electric double-deckers these seem likely to replace the ex-London route 18 examples, being the oldest significant batch of double-deckers there.

There are 6 remaining WVLs to enter service there but I imagine they'll transfer in more or perhaps some of the MX58 examples from Manchester. They have some B9TLs still on loan to Manchester, so I imagine, the remaining 6 or so will transfer back and re-enter service, presumably shifting more Omnidekkas/B5LHs. They also have lots of B7s on loan to the company, as well as some ex Abellio E400s from The Green Bus.
