I'm trying to work out the cost of all the buses bought for the bendy bus conversion programme.
I'm after a ball park cost for
a) Citaro 12m single deck b) Diesel double decker (DW / VN / SN types) c) Hybrid double decker (HV / WHV / EH types)
I don't need a cost for a Volvo and a VDL and a Scania - just the average for a London spec bus. My current guess numbers are £250K for the Citaro, £290k for a d/d and £330K for a hybrid d/d.
If anyone can give a decent steer on the numbers it'd be a great help.

I think that it would be like this:
£150-170K for the Citaros (Red Arrows)
£190-220K for diesel double decks
£240-280K for Hybrid double decks
Bear in mind that some buses are leased, which means that it'll cost less for the operator, some are bought by Green Bus Fund (the hybrids) and that some operators buy in bulk the price goes down slightly.

I didnt think operators saved money by leasing vehicles? I assumed it costs more (adding on interest) and that operators choose to do it so they dont have issues selling the vehicles

I would pick a Citaro Hybrid with Red Arrow interior because you get about 90 people in there. more then a double decker.
