We have developed proposals for route G1 and would like to hear your views.
Route G1 (Streatham High Road – Battersea Shaftsbury Estate)
Route G1 operates between Streatham High Road and Shaftsbury Estate, Battersea, every 20 mins during Monday to Saturday daytimes and every 30 mins during the evenings and all day Sunday.
Wandsworth Council has raised some concerns about two-way bus operations in Sabine Road, Battersea. Following a review with the council, we are proposing to change route G1 so that westbound buses would use the whole length of Eversleigh Road instead of Grayshott Road and part of Sabine Road. Eastbound buses would continue to serve Sabine Road. All roads served within the Shaftesbury Estate area will be “Hail and Ride” operation as now. (Please see map for further details).
To allow for introduction of the service along the full length of Eversleigh Road, LB Wandsworth would need to install double yellow lines on both sides of Eversleigh road at the western end in place of the single yellow lines in the vicinity of numbers 13-23 and 14-16 Eversleigh Road. It may also be necessary to install double yellow lines at the junction of Eversleigh and Sabine Roads.
