Hi All
Are the local schools in contact with London operators?
Reason I'm asking this is because some Schools break up for Holiday earlier than others so running the route in some cases will be pointless and say If a School finishes early like at 12. Does the school contact the operator to run the service early, also I had in mind does all the Schools along that route have to Agree to finish early so that the route can run early.

The school routes at Dagenham always ran earlier if the schools they serviced kicked out early on the last day. The 650/6 started in the school so it was easier than some of the others.

Good question. I had a look on LVF to see if anything was running on the 6xx services. Oddly the 679 did run this morning but the 657 did not nor did the 675 despite them serving the same schools at Woodford. Other Go Ahead operated routes in and around Romford operated but Arriva's 647 did not. I don't know what dates the schools finish in Havering and Brentwood - perhaps it's today?
The JFS routes to Kingsbury run by Sullivans have all run this morning but that school has rather different hours and terms to other schools.
In the past I once snapped a 626 in Barnet at lunchtime - early finish and a complete surprise to see it. I assume the school did advise Metroline / TfL about differing finish times.

where a school requires so the school buses can be run earlier than the normal time, not just at the end of term either, some cases schools may finish early for events or exams at various times throughout the school year etc. the schools will normally contact the operators directly who will organise the bus to run early. normally tfl will not need to be informed as the school buses operate on a mileage based gross cost contract, they would only need to inform tfl if there is a permanent change to timings as a result of changes to school times.
during the holidays the school bus timetables are suspended and routes that include School day only (SDO) journeys (like the 229 and 401) will operate a special school holiday schedule until the end of august/beginning of september, with the SDO journeys omitted.

I know when I was at King's Wood, the headteacher there used to be in contact with NS constantly about the needs of the route with the school. I'd assume that the same is with all routes in this instance as egg has mentioned

Regarding Brentwood, The school that I used to go to broke up on the 18th and My sister broke up today from another school, Also Shenfield which the 608 serves broke up on the 18th yet the 608 is still running today!!!

Today for instance, the 658's finished (all 3 buses -2BX and 1MW) ran their afternoon journeys early, departing Crown Woods School at 1pm. The 625, 661 and 669 ran as per scheduled.
Tomorrow the 669 finishes, the afternoon buses have been asked to be at cleeve park school for 12:45pm.
AFAIK the 625 and 661 will run as planned until the end of the week.

It seems the 313 schoolday extra to Dame Alice Owen's School doesn't get suspended during school holidays but continues to run albeit curtailed to PB station during the holidays. I know this as it my regular bus home from work should I finish on time!
