The Lewisham to Catford via Hither Green section of the 181 accomodate double deckers. A timetable change is not going to solve overcrowding, more capacity is needed. Who wants to go from the Hither Green area to Bellingham via Lower Sydenham? It would be far quicker to change at Catford to a 136 208 or 320. There are people who go to school from Hither Green to Lower Sydenham or Bellingham who take the 181 and people who go to Lower Sydenham Sainsbury's. If there are they'll have to change buses in Catford which is no great hardship, they'll get from Hither Green to Bellingham quicker that way too

Waste of money IMO, because then the route will be split into overlapping sections. More capacity is not needed the 181 & 225 need to to be retimtabled. As far as I'm concerned the 181 would be even busier if it was not for the 225. I have already stated above overcrowding on the 181 is not a problem, because most people get off at Hither Green Lane, there's no point having double deckers running on the route where they will only be required for like a couple of stops. There are other routes in London which could benefit from the investment of double deckers. Tbh it doesn't matter what areas it goes through to get there. The link is there, school children who go to Sedgehill School in Bellingham get on the 181 from Hither Green and Catford they also use the 54. The 181 is not designed to be used from end to end. It does not take long to get to Bellingham from Hither Green, plus it really depends on the part of Bellingham you are going, plus Not everyone likes interchanging routes like that are also good for the elderly, someone wanting Bellingham from Hither Green may not want to interchange.

This is why the 181 is an important link. If the 181 was axed then it affect a lot of people. People do not like change unless it is something new.

I think it's best if this thread was closed down or something because this always results to arguments happening and some people come up with pointless, silly ideas which makes it hard for people to understand, and then they argue about it.

There is nothing wrong with a good debate. It's when it gets out of hand is the issue, the admins and moderators are keeping an eye on this page and there should not be any more arguments if people read the post I made in the announcements thread yesterday.
