Is the ENS Fleet for Route 393 getting refurbished?
Reason I'm asking this is it has been mentioned a few times that the route needs longer buses. ENL18 has done the 393 recently, are 10.2m buses are being trailed out on the 393 at the moment?
If longer buses are approved, wouldn't it make sense for the T31 (currently up for tender) to get new buses and the existing ENLs at TC transferred to the 393. If Arriva Retain or lose the T31 with New buses then ENL1-10 can be refurbished for the 393 and transferred to CT.
Also will ENL18-20 will remiain at CT? If they do then ENL1-10 + ENL18-20 make 13 Buses and the two new buses on order can make up the spares.

A swap would be all that's needed, send the 9 ENL north to the 393 and send 9 ENS (and possibly PDL115 & PDL116) south to the T31. The T31 shouldn't struggle too much with shorter buses.

A swap would be all that's needed, send the 9 ENL north to the 393 and send 9 ENS (and possibly PDL115 & PDL116) south to the T31. The T31 shouldn't struggle too much with shorter buses. There have been cases in the past where routes have gained brand new buses after a 5-7 Year contract. The T31 can get busy at times, why reduce the capacity on the T31 when new buses could be ordered to release the current batch to the 393 and withdrawn the ENS fleet.

Tbh the 393 is well in need of longer buses surprised trials of 10.2m buses were not done sooner tbh. The main narrow sections of the route are around the clapton area and lorries and even trailers go down those roads so 10.2m buses can manage.
ALso as for re furbs ENS6 & 8 have white blinds now but no re furb
