Bus service proposal: route 969
Overview
The London bus network is kept under regular review. As part of this, we develop proposals for changes to services.
Why We Are Consulting
Route 969 (Whitton – Barnes – Roehampton Vale Asda)
Route 969 runs between Whitton, Gladstone Avenue and Roehampton Vale, Asda via Richmond, Barnes and Lennox Estate, providing a return journey on Tuesdays and Fridays.
It is proposed that route 969 is rerouted at Barnes Bridge, The Terrace to operate direct along Barnes High Street and Church Road to Rocks Lane and existing line of route, instead of Lonsdale Road, Verdun Road, Howsman Road, Kilmington Road, Nowell Road, Boileau Road, Madrid Road, Suffolk Road, Ferry Road and Castelnau, in both directions. This would reduce the journey time on the service by about 10 minutes in each direction.
There is now very little usage on the section of route 969 that will no longer be served. Those that travel occasionally will be individually spoken to and given assistance in planning how to make their journey in the future, using Dial-a-Ride where this is possible.
Have your say
Please give us your views by completing the online survey form by 4 October 2013. Passengers currently using this service will be consulted with individually.
Subject to comments received, the new routeing would be introduced on Tuesday 12 November 2013.
