I was wondering whether to get TS2014 but wasn't too sure as this would be the first time that I would be playing a Train Simulator franchise. If anyone has got the game would you be able to shed some light on this for me.

I have been playing train simulators for quite a few years now - Trainz, MSTS and currently Train Simulator 2014. I think that it is a good game however to run really well you need to check that your computer can run it - although there are options to run a less intensive set-up (such as running with TSX off - which basically means you wont get full working headlights or rain on the windscreen of your train - which I do). If you don't have a Steam account already, the game will assist you in doing this as to play it has to have an internet connection. Additional content (updates etc) are delivered by your Steam account. You can also purchase new routes and locomotives through Steam. I would also recommend www.uktrainsim.com as a mine of very useful information on playing, fixing problems and learning to make your own scenarios, locos and routes (if you wish!). I think TS2014 is the best version so far so worth a punt. My only criticism with it is personal - I would like more foreign routes (I would love something Australian or Indian).

Trainz - Don't know if this has any underground content afaik it has a D Stock, modular stations, a 1967 stock and some model of an underground station. That's all I remember from the last time I checked. Most are available on the horrendous Trainz Download Station.

Agreed, but to be fair it is still a work in progress - a revised sound set could be produced at a later date...

The new updated Portsmouth Direct Line was recently released now including many more branch lines aswell as ondon Waterloo and Wimbledon Available to users already owning the old dlc for a 40% discount Nicely done up but when train spawned in at Wimbledon on the wong platform in quick drive I had to immediately reverse out as the ai train was coming towards me and then the points switched into the correct position so that luckily fixed itself If anyone goes to Hampton Court,at the bus stop outside the station,a logo less LT1 is waiting ;-) Streatham is in the game,Haydons Road also is,why not add Tooting for flips sake

They’ve done a pretty good job on it too. Good to be able to do the full route from London to Portsmouth now. The class 455 upgrade is pretty good too, big improvement on the original version.
