Today, I went on 18494 on route 47 and the driver kept on singing Gospel songs and drumming. I have to say his singing was so awful, I had to laugh. Has anyone ever come across this?

I think the first link is him, he couldn't stop singing and I thought it was one of those Jehovah Witnesses & Pastors unknowing that he was singing

He needs to come back! Arriva/TFL should hire him as a conductor for the 38 NBFL's if he is still living in London... He is one awesome conductor i remembered in my childhood. Thanks for the link as well!

There was a driver on the P4 I was on a few months ago who repeatedly belted out his own rendition of "You can if you believe," drumming on the steering wheel as well. He was driving with his head up and eyes shut at times when hitting the high notes. He wasn't that bad, but not too great a singer. I wonder if it's the same guy. I was sitting at the front videoing for a bit, but think I lost the footage.

The videos in the first two YouTube links in freebbc's post were played to three professional singers and both his cadence and pitch were judged spot on, especially as he was concentrating on driving at the time. Simply because you don't happen to like something ob1234, doesn't necessarily mean it is "awful", and if you laughed at this person in his hearing, that is rather serious disrespect and indicates impaired social skills.

The route 38 conductor was Duke Baysee (a clever amalgam of two swing jazz stars in his name, for those into that sort of thing) : he had at least one minor UK chart entry, so he did OK! jammy : using the word 'cadence' isn't strictly correct in that context - a musical cadence isn't what you've described it as ( it's to do with chord movements at the end of musical phrases ). Sorry : that's my music degree speaking
