On Tuesday evening, I had the misfortune to travel on Bromley's Trident 17969. Why misfortune? Nothing wrong with the mechanics, and the bus was in the usual well polished Bromley condition. But I was stood in the wheelchair area. And it was DARK, because of the wretched mega wide Sky advert it was carrying. It doesn't even look that good from the outside : I'm not going to want to get a Sky box just because they're able to print a picture of one a bit bigger to fit these adverts. Thoughts? *feels better for rant*

Can't say I've noticed this bus around the garage but is the advert actually obscuring the window? If so, I don't think that's a good idea

I would've thought that would contravene safety and comfort as a window can potentially be used as an emergency exit.... should one be in a position where there's no other way out.

If so, I don't think that's a good idea The two small windows in the wheelchair area are covered with advertisement : it's in the contravision style. There is a picture in flickr somewhere - put 'Stagecoach 17969' into the search facility.

Not exactly au fait with Flikr but I found it in the end! I think it looks pretty silly. I can only assume Sky have paid over the odds for that type of advert; I only hope more companies don't follow their example
You mention the contravision style of applying the advert. I presume there are legal limits for letting light through and further presume this advert meets this limit; clearly though, from the 'TwoBells' experience, it's not enough. Hopefully the advert won't last too long

It's not the only Trident or bus with the advert either, contravision in any form is never good.

Least its not one of those adverts that is bigger than the frame and they make part of it a sticker. When they remove it you get the glue marks and sometimes paint comes off.

VN37953 is another with those wide ads
Typical of Sky to try and get as much attention as possible!

Don't like the look of them really, prefer the conventional T-Sides, Its the one thing I don't like about the design of the NBFL is it isn't designed to carry a T-side advert. I wonder if BT will produce a new extra wide t-side to rival Sky!
