I can only think that the 130 has been curtailed at Clifford Road to avoid the congestion in the High Street and that the diversion via Crystal Palace was deemed too long winded for the 75 although it could still have gone to Croydon via the 197 and 289 routes. The 157 must be rammed at peak times through Selhurst without the 75 too help out. The only other option would be too convert both routes to single deck, the 75 could swap buses with the 202 and the 157 could swap with the 152/407/T33. They could then go via Sunny Bank, Manor Road and under the low bridge back to the High Street although the Manor Road turn is a bit tight so may have to loop via Doyle Rd and Clifford Rd, not ideal but at least it keeps them on their normal routes. As the 157 is rammed at peak times with double deckers it will be even worse with single deckers, the same with the 75. One must consider the consequences it will have on the Morden end of the 157 and the Lewisham end of the 75. I know, although the 75 used to be single deck years ago. As double deckers can't get under the low bridge the only other option is these big diversions

As double deckers can't get under the low bridge the only other option is these big diversions I can see why they didn't divert the 75 via the 197/289 route but surely it wouldn't of caused too much trouble to run it via Palace - only congestion it would meet that way is on Anerley Hill at Palace, all other roads along the route are relatively light running.

If the 75's pvr has been reduced as a result of the temporary rerouting perhaps the extra double deckers from the 75 could go onto the 202, releasing the same number of single deckers to help Abellio on the 157 (shorts journeys from Crystal Palace to West Croydon with only a minor diversion at Norwood Junction). These journeys would be somewhat similar to when the 545 ran between Camberwell Green and Brixton, then helping out the 35/45/345/P4 with Loughborough Junction.
If Metrobus don't have enough spare buses, Abellio could resurrect any stocked euro3 Tridents onto the 152/407 which in turn releases some more single deckers for the 157 shorts.
Alternatively, use the single deckers as 75 shorts between West Croydon and Penge.

I am talking about supplementary buses on a temporary contract, these would be buses outside the 75/157's main pvr and contract. In anycase more than one company have in the past run the same route at the same time. The 185 was such an example being operated by Connex, Blue Triangle and Go Ahead... bearing in mind that was a different issue due to the financial collapse of Easylink.

Yes, using spare single deckers to run shorts on the 75 between Croydon and Penge is an excellent idea, there must be buses from the 75 allocation sat idle with it being diverted to Elmers End.

Crystal Palace vs Everton football match today in selhurst park has been delayed for 15 minutes due to traffic in the area Maybe the 75 diverting to elmers end is a good idea after all? This also means I better get to work a bit earlier than I should

The bridge work and football traffic has affected the 197 with many turning round in Penge. Looking at Countdown, there are 4 bunched up going to Peckham!

Goat House Bridge is closed again and its closed for the whole week! Im not sure about the notices in West Croydon but there were at every other bus stop I observed. Still didn't stop some asking for directions to Penge, Lewisham and Brockley. It was interesting when I was making my last trip to palace and when I got to Norwood Junction around 1am, I noticed some people were waiting for a bus towards Croydon. Normally, it would be the 75 they be waiting for but obviously it was only running to Elmers End (the last 157 and 410 reaches Norwood Junction around 0030 hrs).

You think they'd make sure last buses were maintained in these situations? Surely the last few 75's could have continued to Croydon with a diversion via Crystal Palace as per the 157? Or if they used single deckers on these workings they could go via Manor Rd and under the low bridge and normal line of route.

Funny enough complaints have been received about 157s not stopping whilst on diversion, thankfully this has now been dealt with. Goat House Bridge is closed again and its closed for the whole week! I understand that the controllers have received messages about this but im unsure if the message has been passed to the drivers. I find out properly tomorrow. I always served all stops while on diversion as it is stated in the big red book. Besides, its not fair on passengers if the bus suddenly goes another direction and drivers are refusing to let them off

I would have thought all drivers would know the rule about serving all stops on any diversion? Refusing to let people off really is bang out of order.
