Elephant and Castle: northern roundabout consultation

Found this link on the Yahoo site. I must say it would be quite a wide junction with that roundabout removed. Love to see what the proposed layout would look like.

Having read it, I fear their idea will cause congestion and probably wouldn't halt any fatalities with a traffic light controlled junction. It would be nice if TfL actually reduced the number of traffic lights on London's Roads.

Have a look at the old B&W photos of when it was nothing but trams; from the one's I;ve seen it seems as if it was a couple of bobbies with white gauntlets.
I can remember before the 'biscuit tin' was built, each road had a two colour ATS controlled by a policeman who was in a small cabin.
