Kentish Way, BromleyOverview Transport for London is committed to improving its road network and as part of this we are proposing to make improvements to the A21 Kentish Way junction with Stockwell Close and Holwood Road and would like your comments on the proposals. Why We Are Consulting We want to make the junction easier and safer to negotiate for all those using the junction. The following changes are being proposed: The signal staging would be changed to allow more movements to take place in parallel; the signals would also be linked with adjacent signalled junctions, reducing delay to all traffic and pedestrian wait times. The shared footway facility on the west side of Kentish Way would be extended and gaps removed to assist cycle movements. The crossing of Holwood Road (the access road to the ‘Intu Bromley’ car park) would be widened to allow pedestrians and cyclist to cross together. The existing cycle parking will be moved closer to the shopping centre. Taxis as well as buses would be allowed to turn right into Elmfield Road to assist taxi movements in Bromley town centre and to access Bromley South station. Subject to the comments we receive we hope to introduce changes in the summer of 2014. Attachment Deleted

When they say taxi I hope they mean black cabs and not minicabs otherwise it is going to be blocked up with those muppets (IMO) and all the bus services will be effected.
Other than the island they want to widen I don't see a problem with that junction how it is and IMO it is a slight waste of money because I hardly see many cyclist there and few pedestrians use the crossings crossing over Kentish way mainly because of the footbridge.
