So guys I'm thinking of doing a journey from Peckham to Clapham Junction. I know the 345 and the 37 goes to both places. I would like to do both journeys to see which one would be quicker. Anyone on here that has done this can you tell me which one you thought was quicker? I slyly think the 37 will just about edge it but do tell me your thoughts. It depends on the traffic really but the 37 is usually the quicker one from experience.

When I do the challenge I will review it and I'll aim to do it across two days to make it fair and get on around the same time on both days.

Just to give you a heads up that a combo of LTN's & roadworks in Brixton can screw the 37 up currently. The 345 has been free from it's own diversion for about a month now

Saturday's journey to West & South West London - first one in a while: Walked to Brixton Underground Station Victoria Line to Oxford Circus - horrendously busy with every carriage rammed and all seats taken Central Line to Greenford - same thing though only for the first stop, after Bond Street, the train emptied significantly and by White City, there was only a handful on board. The E6 to Greenford Broadway (DE1123) - nothing interesting about this journey The E1 to Ealing Broadway (2446) - second time I've done this route, both under Abellio and both with the correctly allocated vehicle as well. The driver where possible certainly wasn't in a crawling mood which was good and we also passed ADH45037 doing route learning duties at Drayton Green. The E1 is a good example of where double deckers can go given there are some tightish turns on routes and some narrow spots as well. Patronage wise, it loaded quite well throughout with a decent crowd getting of at Haven Green The E9 to Yeading, Barnshill Estate (9464) - third time on this route having done a DE under Metroline and a 94** series under Abellio. Sadly, this journey was very sluggish and we were delayed near Argyle Road due to roadworks. Again, patronage was really good with it only emptying out just before Yeading - I then had the bus practically to myself the rest of the way with another E9 close behind that had no one on board. Walked to Kingshill Avenue The 90 to Hayes, Fairey Corner (VMH2584) - believe this is my first VMH ride on the route having previously rode a DP, MM & SEL. This was a quieter journey but the driver was certainly not messing about giving it a little bit of welly at times. I notice the build quality around where the panels join is better than earlier examples, good to see MCV continuing to improve it. The 350 to Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 (2459) - very happy to get a double decker and an ex QB example. Again like the E1 & 90 rides, very quick rides throughout especially as we got closer to Heathrow. Like the 90, this service is quieter but then I've experienced quiet journeys on the 350 a few times in the past The 423 to Hounslow Bus Station (VH45152) - this was on my list ever since it converted to double decks as it's so much better than the previously allocated DLE's. Again, no regulating or crawling and surprisingly, a few got in & around the airport, maybe even a tad more than along the route itself. There was a brief moment where one idiot driver lambasted the driver despite the bus driver having the right of way As we passed through Hounslow Heath, I spotted a SP on the 116 which got me thinking, is there anymore out and if yes, could I change my original routing I was doing and do that working instead - my luck was in as another 2 were out and one was 10 stops behind my 423 leaving me with only a short wait at Hounslow - result The 116 to Ashford Hospital (SP40187) - after a 8 minute wait, a H98 example turned up. The reason I wanted to do this because not only have I never rode a double deck 116 (my only previous journey was a DPS) but the 116 is expected to move out of AV and so the chances of a SP working are probably null once that happens so thought best chance is to do it now. It was a decent ride overall and was a little bit empty throughout. Thank goodness the heavens opened and shut whilst and before I got off at Ashford Hospital! The 216 to Kingston, Cromwell Road Bus Station (DLE30063) - first DLE ride having rode it a few times with DPS's. Driver made good time especially once through the traffic at Hampton Court where he thrashed it along Hampton Court Road Walked to Fairfield Bus Station The 57 to Streatham Hill, Telford Avenue (WSD16) - I thought I was getting an E but I get this instead, at least I can say I've rode one on their and hopefully I don't get another! The 59 to Brixton Hill, Blenheim Gardens (LT613) - nothing interesting about this journey Walked home SP40187 is not an H98 example.

U1 Ruislip - Uxbridge 222 Uxbridge - Hounslow Town Centre H98 Hounslow Town Centre - Hayes Town Centre 140 Hayes Town Centre - Yeading E7 Yeading - Ruislip
Journey back from Hounslow was really long - having missed the 120 in Hounslow, decided to go via Hayes instead. Then I narrowly missed the 278 in Hayes, so opted for the 140. The X140 was 2 mins behind but I took the 140, and was overtaken by the X140. Then in Yeading I had to wait 12 minutes for the E7 (I reckon taking the X140 would have meant that I would have got the previous E7), and then was stuck in traffic around Polish War Memorial.

Took my first Hydrogen Streetdeck ride on WHD2726 on the 7 from Ladbrook Grove to Oxford Circus eariler today.
I do think are more sturdier compared some of the buses that Wright made over the recent years and they are certainly much better than the diesel-powered Streetdecks which tends to be rather sluggish/underpowered for a double decker plus they are much nicer buses to ride on over the diesel Streetdecks. I did notice the USB ports are located on pretty much every seat and not skipping some seats as we have seen on some of the new buses here in London lately and I do like the nice whining sound they make which are quite similar in a way that a Metrodecker EV does.
Overall, they are a nice addition to the zero-emmsion bus scene in London and I would like to see more of these hydrogens here in London, but that said the battery-powered electrics are generally the favour of the day right now for London.

Apologies for not noting down fleetcodes, I just went on what was coming so it wasn't planned so didn't have time Had nothing to do today, apart from having to go to Paddington Station to sort something out. Managed to get 3 different electric bus models which was I plan I made whilst on the move (the hydrogen is technically electric?) 170 (SE) - Dover Park Drive to Putney Heath/Green Man (Got this as 85 was meant to come but this came first and thought change at Putney Heath/Green Man will be quicker) 39 (SE) - Putney Hill/Green Man to Lytton Grove (Got this, went one stop before the dreaded service regulation announcement) 85 (VH) - Lytton Grove to St Marys Church/Putney Pier (Got the bus behind, which was the 85 I was meant to catch, which was bunched with another 85) 220 (ADH) - St Marys Church/Putney Pier to Hammersmith Bus Station (Nice and nippy, unfortunately would've missed a WHD on the 7 had I stayed on so I got off at Hammersmith) 23 (OE) - Hammersmith Bus Station to Paddington Station (First time on an OE, and all I can say is wow, no rattles, bright and airy inside, sleek and just generally a very smooth and nice ride) *Went to Paddington Station* 7 (WHD) - Paddington Station to Oxford Circus (Bus Stand) (Didn't have long to wait, however I did notice that every so often these buses start making a noise as if they're about to take off like an airplane or F1 car. Took photos and had a chat with the driver (He hates these and prefers "old school")) 7 (WHD) - Oxford Circus (Bus Stand) to Brunel Road (Took this end to end, generally a nice ride, and apart from the occasional jet engine style noise it was decent, though fairly loud for an electric. These seem to have ISA fitted ) 7 (VWH) - Brunel Road to East Acton Station (So I was going to go back on the WHD towards Zone 1, however the driver had to go out of service to the garage. Whilst getting off, a lovely old lady realised she was in the wrong place (We were at East Acton Industrial Estate and she wanted to go to Acton Morrisons). As I had nothing to do, I made sure that she got to Morrisons. (Also, partially because I misread my maps and thought that Morrisons was close to Acton Green!) 70 (BE) - East Acton Station to Steyne Road (Had a lovely chat with the lady, then made sure she got off at Morrisons *At this point my Instagram got hacked, so I spent a good 15 minutes at the bus stop trying to stop it and managed to finally disable my account * 207 (MMC)- Acton Old Town Hall to Shepherd's Bush Station (Was going to get a 607, however just missed one and didn't fancy waiting 10 minutes as it started raining) 94 (BCE)- Shepherd's Bush to Charles II Street (Just missed one, however next one was only 3 minutes away (with no regulation during the trip!). The driver was being assessed by 2 staff with checklists, and I overheard them saying how the ISA hasn't been programmed for the majority of the area the 94 serves! (Apparently only programmed at the Acton end). Got some photos at the stand, tried getting a blind change (staff thought these had 72 on blinds, however controller showed that these only have 94 & 148)) 38 (LT)- Piccadilly Circus to Buckingham Palace Road/Bressenden Place (Regulation galore! As the bus was close to the one in front. Believe I was also the only passenger for a few stops. Driver had to regulate just before Victoria Bus Station so I got off there.) *Went to Victoria Station for toilet and to M&S for food (come on, Is M&S the only supermarket in the area!! Overpriced lol)* V170 (Baby SE) - Victoria to Exeter House (Driver was great, greeted all passengers, waited for me to take photos, and safely let off people in horrendous traffic. Fr some reason, the V extra was nearly empty throughout the whole journey, including me there was maximum 2 other people at any one time and for a few sections I was the only passenger. Normally the V extra would be full! Traffic was horrendous on Lombard Road so took a good 10 minutes just to turn the corner. (I looked at the schedule and this seems accounted for so horrendous traffic there must be normal)) Overall, a great trip. I managed to sample an ADL, Optare & Wright Electric (/Hydrogen), as well as go through a few areas and get a few routes I wouldn't otherwise use or go through Will try to upload some photos later

I happened to be in some of those areas today, most notably Hammersmith and Acton, whilst it was sunny around 8am. I headed north to Brent Cross and then through Wembley to South Kenton where ahead of me (South Harrow) it appeared to be raining. I went onto South Harrow where I got soaked (I was on a bike not a bus), and later on by South Ruislip the rain had cleared (because it was moving east). Interesting weather patterns lately with all this rain, looks like it will finally be dry and sunny soon!

Originally I was meant to go out cycling today, glad I chose not to! I was planning on heading north west a bit more, however wasn't really sure on what would be good to sample. So far on my to do list at the moment are the 190's DM's (have been on these before but want to try them again), TA1 (when it returns), WVL204 on the V655, any other non standard V extras, Metroline OS's (but Golders Green isn't the closest so that can wait), maybe RATP's 11 reg MCL's and the 969 route as well

I managed to sample an ADL, Optare & Wright Electric (/Hydrogen), as well as go through a few areas and get a few routes I wouldn't otherwise use or go through Will try to upload some photos later All (acceptable quality) photos from today can be found on my Flickr page here : flickr.com/photos/139293107@N04/Selection of shots: WHD2722 - Route 7 at Oxford Circus stands by southlondontransport, on Flickr BCE47008 - Route 148 at Oxford Street by southlondontransport, on Flickr VMH2434 - Route 113 & WHD2722 - Route 7 at Oxford Circus stands by southlondontransport, on Flickr WHD2722 - Nearside Headlight Shot by southlondontransport, on Flickr WHD2722 - Offside Headlight Shot by southlondontransport, on Flickr BCE47008 - Route 148 at Piccadilly Circus by southlondontransport, on Flickr

I think the thing with the ISA on the BCEs is the new 20mph main roads in RBKC and Westminster are still set to 30mph on the buses. It’s similar to the 65s VHs where the ones that actually have it installed are allowed up to 30mph except between The Dysart and just after Sandy Lane where the bus limit changes to 20mph. There seem to be more VHs that don’t have ISA recently. What’s also interesting is the Abellio Smart Hybrids on the 285 and 482 show the correct limit on the dashboard but doesn’t actually have any sort of limiter. I’ve been on many 285s absolutely caning it through Teddington, especially when it had that tight COVID timetable.
