Morning all. I still need to do the 37 and 345 comparison but I need to venture out more to different areas. I've done near enough most routes in East, North and South London but not enough West London routes or greater London routes So I'm going to start with my Bromley and Orpington folk on here. Can anyone recommend any route around that part of London for me to get on? I've been a on a few Kingston routes i.e the 57, 131, 65, X26, 85. The 111 it's been a long while since I've done that route. How is the 281 and 285 like to get on? And finally I'd like to get on some Uxbridge buses. Does anyone have any recommendations for that area? Thanks all In the Uxbridge area I'd probably go for the U9 or 331 for the scenic views, and fast speeds. Going south of Uxbridge I would say there isn't a route that is significantly worse or better than any others, none of them that head for Hillingdon Hospital sort of area are that interesting. Next Sunday is the Anniversary of the day I rode routes 331 & U9. My U9 was from Uxbridge to Harefield then my 331 from there to Ruislip. Harefield did not feel like Greater London at all.

Thank you all that gave me good suggestions and recommendations on different routes to try out. I will definitely come on here to share the experiences.
Much appreciated once again

I’m not usually one to advocate fast rides but the 246 does lend itself to it with open stretches of national speed limit roads. The general public won’t get to enjoy the fastest ride though - I was doing the last bus into Westerham last week which runs into TB from Westerham. The official light running route is back along line of route then down to Keston Mark, right along to Locksbottom and then left along Hastings Road to the garage. I fancied something different though so I went straight along the A25, left onto Chevening Road, Polhill, Badgers Mount, Pratts Bottom, A21 to TB. At one point, roundabouts apart, it was nearly 15 minutes running at 50mph! Great fun! I would have thought that was the better route, I remember an MB driver saying that he went that way. It’s quicker from Westerham to MB going that way - it’s a few minutes slower going to TB but I still didn’t sign off any later so I’ll happily pay the price of a few minutes longer trip for some actual fun driving a bus!

So today this was my journey:
I took the 395 to Northolt Station. Then I took the Central Line to South Ruislip. Walked to Pets at Home. Walked back to South Ruislip. Took the Central Line to Greenford. Walked to Westway Cross to Pets At Home and McDonald’s. Then I took the 395 back to home (it was the same 60 reg DE and driven by the same driver as the 395 I took to South Ruislip)
I wanted to go to Pets at Home in Hayes and a Pets at Home in Brentford then I thought against it when realised how bad the links are. Like you get from South Ruislip to Brentford and then from Brentford to Hayes. Or South Ruislip to Hayes and then to Brentford. Brentford High Street so needs a train link.

Okay so: Pets at Home Ruislip to Pets at Home Brentford: Walk to South Ruislip Central to Greenford GWR to West Ealing Walk to E8 stop E8 to Pets at Home Pets at Home Brentford to Pets at Home West Drayton: 235/237/E8 to Hounslow 222 to Pets at Home Pets at Home West Drayton to Pets at Home Greenford U5 to Hayes E6 to Greenford Station 395 to Pets at Home The Pets at Home stores are in very unusual locations so you can't expect there will be direct links between them.

Birthday Day out to London Zoo (from yesterday)
16 - LT??? - Cricklewood Broadway > Elgin Avenue / Maida Vale Station - Nearly missed this one, but was an solid ride until major traffic on Kilburn High Road. I do miss taking the bus to Kilburn for commutes, so brought back good memories as well.
Bakerloo Line - Maida Vale Station > Regents Park - Standard tube ride really. 88 - EH30 - Albany Street > Prince Albert Road / London Zoo - Short walk to this bus stop. This ride was also weird sounding, as bus had an turbo leak sound.
Journey to North Finchley + Home
88 - EH2??/3??? - Prince Albert Road / London Zoo > Prince Of Wales Road - Standard Enviro 400MC journey that was marred in traffic. 134 - OME2658 - Prince Of Wales Road > North Finchley High Road - Nice to board this route outside usual Friern Barnet area. An nice ride with great air conditioning. 263 - TE975 - Christchurch Avenue > Leisure Way - Short lazy ride for Pizza Hut time! 460 - VWH1409 - Kingsway / North Finchley > Home - Really nice end to day with an solid ride on my favourite batch of buses, with this doing the honours of an birthday ride home. Also the hybrid new battery on this bus has made it excellent and nippy again. Surprised VWH1411 didn't stalk me, as always get that one by chance or close next bus every week.

H13 Ruislip - Pinner Not a single person wearing a mask apart from myself for most of the journey, and there was around 10 people onboard.
H12 Pinner - Hatch End Bit slow through roadworks around St Thomas's drive
Walk to Hatch End Morrison's
H14 Hatch End - Harrow (St George's centre) H14 currently curtailed to Harrow Arts Centre due to the roadworks near St Thomas's drive
Walk to Harrow Morrison's
114 Harrow (Lascelles Avenue) - Ruislip Missed the 1st 114 that came and almost missed the second whilst sitting on a bench by the roundabout near Lascelles Avenue
Not looking for anything in particular in Morrison's, just like going there in the evening when prices are reduced.

Uxbridge in the gloom beckons this PM I think ...........

Started off with a 53 (12326) home - Elephant and Castle. Nothing major about this bus apart from the fact that it will be the 180's allocation in a few months.
MHV32 - route 63 - Elephant - Southwark Station, will miss the Evoseti buses when it passes to Abellio, although I'm looking forward for the first Double decker electric batch of buses for Abellio.
Short walk to Borough and then got the 381 (cant remember what bus it was) to Waterloo, fairly quick ride, after I got off I was surprised to see so many routes on diversion (11, 24, 88, 453, and I wonder why.)
Then I got WHV172 on route 188, and these WHVs are great vehicles. Rode WVL457 home from North Greenwich.
