Unless, of course, you don’t mind doing it at night. I’ve been doing the 2224 and 0024 departures from Bromley North since Friday and since all the petrol stations along the route are shut by then I haven’t had any delays! How is the 246 like during the day. I think in that case I may attempt that route (246) when the children are on half term. Middle of the day during the week is generally quiet. The busier times are, like most routes, school times - since TB last had the route there’s been a definite uptick in school children. So unless you specifically want Chartwell (hurry up if you do - there’s only about a month left this year) then aim for something in the middle of the day

Don't know what possessed me to go out in this weather but here you have it: me going on the Daimier Streetlites on the 219. Walk to Wood Green Station Piccadilly Line- Wood Green to Finsbury Park Victoria Line- Finsbury Park to H&I Overground- H&I to Clapham Junction (via Willesden Junction) WS20 (219)- Clapham Junction/The Falcon to Wimbledon (Tale of two halves with this one. I thought the bus was slow and generally struggled until we switched drivers at Merton Abbey and then the journey became a lot more enjoyable so kudos to the second driver) District Line- Wimbledon to Earls Court A very packed Piccadilly Line from Earls Court to Wood Green Short walk home
So that's the penultimate bus type done now next week will be the SOEs or Optare Esteems.. looks like I'll be heading back down to Wimbledon next weekend. Been done there a lot recently not sure how I feel about that

Daimler examples have a deeper sound than the Cummins examples which sound identical to Voith Enviro 200's because they too have a Cummins engine

U1 The Greenway - Austin's Lane (got the bus to work today because it was raining first thing today) U1 The Greenway - Midcroft (Then went to Ruislip to get something to eat) U1 Midcroft - The Greenway (really interesting journey, bus driver got peeed because people were standing by the exit doors. What really amused me is that they refused to move despite the fact that there were some seats. People have been making excuses about not wanting to sit down like not wanting to catch coronavirus but even then now there's no restrictions. Driver almost called the police because someone refused to move away from the exit doors.)

On a challenge that's taken me from Sutton to East Acton, the final leg (for now) takes me to Raynes Park for the SOEs or Optare Esteems
Walk to Wood Green Station Piccadilly Line- Wood Green to King's Cross St Pancras (very nippy train especially on the Turnpike Lane to Manor House stretch) Victoria Line- King's Cross St Pancras to Euston (thought the Northern Line Charing Cross branch stopped at King's Cross. It doesn't) Northern Line- Euston to Waterloo SW Railway- Waterloo to Raynes Park (love a good old 315 train. Nice to see them still around) SOE22 (152)- Raynes Park Station to Streatham Park Cemetery (Merton's 20mph zones absolutely killed the mood for me. Yeah it has benefits but it just makes buses slow and unattractive) DW190 (60)- Longthornton Road to Streatham Station Southern- Streatham to London Bridge Jubilee Line- London Bridge to Green Park Piccadilly Line- Green Park to Wood Green
P.S I say final leg for now because I am waiting for TA1 to go into service again (if it does), Uno's BYDs which will be extremely unlikely I'll get on one and the new Volvo DD. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go on Metroline's DMs, they were withdrawn before I could get to them.
Next week I'll try the NL extension. Bit late to the party I know.

Today's trip to the 93 runnin day: Walked to Morval Road bus stop The 415 to Tulse Hill Station (LT683) Thameslink service to Sutton via Wimbledon (Class 700) - by accident, that's the whole Sutton loop done Southern service to Dorking (Class 377) - first time I've been beyond Epsom on this line (I think) Walked to Dorking, White Horse stopping off for a Cappuccino on the way The 93 to North Cheam, Church Hill Road (VPL630) - as always, great bus with a great driver, shame about lack of working kickdown but still, very nice ride. Traffic in Epsom was threatening to ruin the service which it eventually did later on in the day The 93 to Dorking, South Street (8310) - ex PVL167 with another brilliant driver absolutely getting the most out of this bus. The 50mph section on the A24 was brilliant with this bus Had some time to kill so decided to explore Dorking - found a nice quiet spot in the yard of St Mary's Church Waited for the next bus which took ages to come but eventually WVL1 showed up only to then tell us we must board at White Horse Waited an eternity for the bus to show at the first stop which was now 45 minutes late departing at this point only to annoying find out that they ended up letting people on board at the stop I'd just come from The 93 to North Cheam, Queen Victoria (WVL1) - nice looking bus and mostly sounds healthy though the pull away was a bit lackluster particularly on inclines. The biggest disappointment was the actual time keeping with no urgency to try and catch up time at all be it regulating at stops for longer periods than other buses and even running via Leatherhead Station which wasn't on the route record and which was not served by the other buses I went on. Worst of all, the driver stayed well below the speed limit and even sat behind a cyclist at one point despite the road clear and not on a bend - as a result, it took an hour to do this journey that didn't anywhere near that previously Went for a walk about whilst I waited for a friend to meet me at North Cheam The 93 to Putney Heath (RT1431) - ideally, I'd of started this from Dorking but I wasn't heading back on WVL1 and missing this service. Busiest journey of the day and a good run, no slowness here The 37 to Brixton, Morval Road (E254) Walked home

Really wanted to do this running day, but committed to (non-bus) activity all this weekend, unfortunately. It does mean I still haven’t been able to do any bus event since before the covid outbreak started Sorry to hear that, hopefully you'll end up at one sooner rather than later Hoping to do PD open day and Ensignbus running day if weather conducive and I don’t get pulled into other commitments. Possibly Brooklands if I can shift another commitment. For Saturday events in particular I’m on standby to do cover work (not of a bus nature), so there’s never any guarantee that I can do anything, really.

Also decided to check out the 93 running day yesterday. District Line (Dagenham Heathway to Barking) Perfect Connection for the C2C to West Ham Jubilee Line to Waterloo South Western Railway to Clapham Junction Southern Rail to Epsom V323KGW to Dorking and back to Epsom (Quite Fast and driver was very kind) HJ02HDE to Dorking (Pretty full up but an alright run) WVL1 to Leatherhead (Turned up very late, and the driver+conductor decided to go on break here rather than later on at North Cheam. Had a lovely chat with them and secured a seat on the stand. Journey was fairly slow though.) V323KGW to Dorking and back to Leatherhead (Yet again, quite fast. Arguably faster than the initial run in the morning) X567EGK to Dorking and back to Epsom (A good run, nice to see this bus before its withdrawal) HLX421 to Carshalton (Very packed, but had a nice run and the staff on board were very kind and even provided rubbish bins for those who needed) 407 to West Croydon (Just a bog standard bus ride) Tramlink to East Croydon Southern to Clapham Junction (Had a dialema where two trains were due at once, but I was lucky enough to get on the one due out first) South Western Railway to Waterloo Jubilee to West Ham Another perfect connection to the C2C to Barking District to Dagenham Heathway [Went back out again] District to West Ham Jubilee to North Greenwich 486 to Charlton Village

Yesterday ...................
12345 on the 96 from Woolwich Arsenal to Bexleyheath (on a failed hunt for ENX4) - got a very nice photo of it at WA. Bus was full of dead-eyed phone Zombies masquerading as schoolkids. 12293 on the return (nice smooth ride in electric mode) ............ just don't seem to be able to hit the Scania's when on the 96.
