My "bus journey" today - a couple of hours this PM at Whipps Cross photographing the outgoing TT E200's on the W15. It's a good place to photo - nice and open with a good sunny day aspect without impinging shadows and a good variety of buses - soon to be increased ................... Highlight - getting GAL SE86 on a training run

Wrapped up the Overground part of the Tube Map with the Watford DC line. Split it into two parts: Euston-Queens Park and Harrow & Wealdstone- Watford Junction. (Queens Park- Harrow & Wealdstone I've already done on the Bakerloo line)
Walk to Wood Green Station Piccadilly line- Wood Green to Finsbury Park Victoria Line- Finsbury Park to Euston Overground (Watford DC Line)- Euston to Queens Park DE1657 (206)- Queens Park Station/Victoria Road to Knatchbull Road VH45195 (18)- Knatchbull Road to Sudbury & Harrow Road Station VWH2206 (182)- Sudbury & Harrow Road Station to Harrow & Wealdstone Station Overground (Watford DC Line)- Harrow & Wealdstone to Watford Junction ADE40411 (142)- Watford Junction to Manor Park Crescent Had to run to Edgware Bus Station because the 142 doesn't go to Edgware Bus Station going towards Brent Cross but serves it going the other way. Doesn't make sense HV227 (211)- Edgware Bus Station to Haringey Civic Centre (handled the Mill Hill parts very well)
Doing the DLR next week or maybe the Met if the weather's good

My "Bus Journey" today (well yesterday now) a frustrating day at Blackheath combating the bright sun (which was odd in a vast open space) trying to photograph the HT's on the 202 - not helped by some idiot crashing their car into a shop on the A205 at Catford that stranded 90% of the 202 's the wrong side of Catford and resulted not many making it back East again before the Sun had gone too far round and I needed to leave for work 😒. There were a lot of E & MEC trainers about though 👍

Don't usually post journeys this late but here goes.. did the Trams today. Was gonna do the DLR but that was partially closed. So was the Trams but got a way around it. (Done the Elmers End branch and Wimbledon-West Croydon as well as the one-way stops Westbound to Wimbledon in Croydon Town Centre)
Piccadilly Line- Wood Green to Finsbury Park Victoria Line- Finsbury Park to Victoria Southern- Victoria to West Croydon (always love a good 315 train ride) Walked from West Croydon to East Croydon to tick off Wellesley Road. No way I was coming back just for that stop. Tram- East Croydon to New Addington then back up to Sandilands to change for a Beckenham Junction tram
154 (354)- Beckenham Junction Station to Beckenham Road/War Memorial. (Why are Metrobus' fleetcodes different from other GAL operations?)
MEC53 (358)- Croydon Road/War Memorial to Crystal Palace Parade/College Road
Checked out the planned closures at this point for whatever reason only to find out that the Overground wasn't even going to Crystal Palace this weekend. No idea how I missed that one. Had to take a little detour
LT695 (3)- Crystal Palace Parade to Brixton Station Victoria Line- Brixton to Finsbury Park Piccadilly Line- Finsbury Park to Wood Green Short walk home
Doing the DLR next week. No other closures to worry about so should move smoothly.

Why are Metrobus' fleetcodes different from other GAL operations? Metrobus was bought by GAL later than the rest and they decided to keep the codes as they were. That's why the Scanias always had weird codes.

There is more to it than that and a bit more history.

Went out into Kent today to indulge in some good buses District Line to Barking C2C to West Ham DLR to Woolwich Arsenal Thameslink ends up running a half hour late due to wires down along the Midland Mainline so, Southeastern to Dartford Cue mad dash across the footbridge over to the bus stops at Home Gardens 428 to Bluewater (6440) 700 to Chatham, Waterfront (had to buy a single since the driver had never heard of a South Downs discovery ticket) Apart from that, nice B7TL run down the A2 (6417) 101 to Maidstone, The Cannon - Another nice B7TL, this time down the A249 (6144) 12 to Maidstone Bus Station - Just to save me the walk there (3996) 72 to Kings Hill - Just your bog standard rattly Enviro 200 (18257/TAL257) 77 to Tonbridge Station - Some nice nostalgia with an ex-London Trident) (6407) 7 to Maidstone, The Cannon - A third good run with a B7TL, this time accompanied by the lovely villages sprinkled along the route (6475) 101 to Chatham, Waterfront - Crawled along the A249, but sped up towards the end (6401) 190 to Gravesend - Rain spoiled the fun, but a lovely route especially along the Gravesend Road (9509) AZ to Dartford, Home Gardens - Pulled in as I alighted from my 190, so perfect fit for me. Ran quite empty along the journey, but made very good time Southeastern to Woolwich Arsenal - Due to some sort of incident, the inbound train was delayed by about 10 minutes, and a Thameslink which was due to leave behind this service was also delayed which resulted in a sluggish 376 back to Woolwich DLR to West Ham - Departure boards were faulty at Woolwich so resulted in everyone standing about until the last second where a rush ensued C2C to Barking District Line to Home

Those B7TL's are still nice buses despite being nearly 18 years old. It's actually the A229 the 101 route to Chatham, the A249 is the road to Sittingbourne.

My "Bus Journey" today ............. SWR & Jubilee to Stratford followed by a couple of hours photography whilst trying to avoid becoming airborne ................ lot's of shots but primarily to get the WHV's including WHV3, 4, 5 & 9 substituting on the 69 but also rewarded with GAL's E64, E65 & E99 as consecutive services on the 104 and a couple of Scania's on the 238. Bus to work was VN37962 on the 262 all the way from SF to the DLR depot - up top & up front - enjoying the swaying in the wind on route ........... to any Bus Driver out there today - you have really earned your corn 👍.
