Some free time yesterday so a Sunday morning end2end on the 31 that of course is a route under threat. 31 operated by Metroline (WJ) White City Bus Station-Camden Town Station VMH2546 / LA68 DXY / MCV EvoSeti Duration: 36 minutes Passenger Loading: Light throughout Temporary Traffic Lights: Adelaide Road (Chalk Farm) Arrived at White City by Central Line and made the five minute walk south to the Bus Station. It was early, first light and pretty much deserted and I was the sole pax to board However, at Shepherd’s Bush Station four or five boarded and most stayed on board for the majority of the route. Leaving Shepherd’s Bush noted a ‘stray’ S based BYD Enviro 20EV MMC BE37081 operating the C1. Notting Hill was quiet save the McDonalds and from the upper deck, I could see 20+ diners enjoying their breakfast. Next landmark was Westbourne Park Garage and as you’d expect early on a Sunday it was pretty much packed. The most memorable part of my journey was travelling north on Kilburn Park Road, a long straight and fairly wide road and travelling towards the impressive architecture, particularly the tower and spire of Grade I listed St Augustine’s Church that I read dates back to 1870. At Kilburn Park Station a VMH operating the 32 was resting in the morning mist then time to travel just around 50 metres on the A5 before turning east Swiss Cottage and then Chalk Farm. Temporary traffic lights are such a part of London roads that just for the sake of it I’m going to mention them and I bet the temp lights in Adelaide Road are a nightmare on weekday rush-hours. I was aware that Tesco / Sainsbury’s / Asda all have stops that include their names but wasn’t aware that Morrisons have “Chalk Farm Road / Morrisons” (there are probably others) then a run in to Camden Town and some photos of the VMH on stand followed by breakfast in McDonald’s on Camden High Street. The route was fairly quiet throughout and after reading forum reports of the route in the week, glad to have avoided that! You went to two Mcdonalds

On Friday, I came home from work by bus (car got a punctured tyre, had to be dropped off there in the morning, I refused my brother's offer to be picked up in the afternoon). Ok, no problem, TfL journey planner says that it takes 78-85 minutes, starting with a 10-12 minute walk to the 140, 12 minutes to Northolt, wait for the 120, then 35 minutes to Norwood Green and a 5 minute walk home. How long did the entire journey take me? 95 minutes, and this was with space on the first buses that arrived, plus I was lucky with short 3-5 minute waits for both the 140 and 120. The 120 section took 50 minutes, and traffic was normal for the time of day. Metroline's timetables on the 120 are impossible to achieve, and this duff gen is then reflected in journey planners. I had the 1702 from Northolt, which is timetabled to reach Norwood Green at 1737. Going back to the last RATP timetable from 2016, the 1658 from Northolt was timetabled to reach Norwood Green at 1741, a whole 8 minutes longer than today (and this is a figure unchanged from before the move from PA to SG). Remember, the entire London Borough of Ealing is now 20mph, and my bus VWH2700 had ISA working, therefore even RATP’s old times are a bit tight now, let alone Metroline’s current times! No wonder they keep leaving early where possible, otherwise they often arrive late enough to lose the stand time, as happened to the previous working of my 1702 above (timetabled to reach Northolt at 1646, actually arrived at 1703, although it should have come fresh from the garage so I hope it didn’t depart late from Hounslow). If Metroline had a timetable that reflected reality, and TfL journey planner had such a timetable, it would have noticed that it was around 10-15 minutes faster to take the Piccadilly Line from South Harrow to Hounslow Central (changing at Acton Town), but as things stand, this option was nowhere to be seen. Even going from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Southall (changing at Finchley Road and Bond Street) was marginally faster! Of course, if this happened on the coming Friday, there would be no Abellio or Metroline buses, so I would have no choice but to use the last option (or get picked up by my brother, wish I'd taken him up on that offer a couple of days ago as the car takes 35-40 minutes ).

Did the first few H prefixed routes yesterday (H3-H19. Already done the H2 prior to this which is why I left it out)
Walked to Wood Green Station Piccadilly line- Wood Green to King's Cross st Pancras Northern line- King's Cross st Pancras to Golders Green OS2600 (H3)- Golders Green Station to East Finchley/Hill Top
Walked to the main road where I had to wait 15 minutes for the 102 so I just walked to the A406/Henlys Corner to catch either the 112 or the 232 but the 102 showed up anyway HV168 (102)- Henlys Corner to Brent Cross Shopping Centre VWH2197 (182)- Brent Cross Shopping Centre to Harrow Bus Station Missed a H18 by simply looking the wrong way so took the H19 instead DLE30281 (H19)- Harrow Bus Station all the way round back to Harrow Bus Station DLE30280 (H18)- same as above Took a H17 from Harrow Bus Station to Wembley (forgot to note the fleetnumber down) Stopped for some lunch at Wembley

Unfortunately it didn't stop long at Northwood Hills Station so had to catch it at St Vincent's which I didn't even do because it surprisingly doesn't have a lot of stand time)
DE1023 (H13)- Haydon School to Ruislip Lido and back to Ruislip Station Metropolitan line- Ruislip to Rayner's Lane Piccadilly line- Rayner's Lane to South Harrow (had to switch to platform 1 to catch this train. Didn't park up like it usually does and comes back to platform 2) Walked to South Harrow Bus Station ADH45287 (H12)- South Harrow Bus Station to Stanmore Station Jubilee line- Stanmore to Green Park Piccadilly line- Green Park to Wood Green Walked home

Last day of Metroline's operation on the 307 and also the last route to swap operators this year. Did the journey in 2 parts: Brimsdown-Ponders End and New Barnet- Barnet Hospital. The bit in-between I've done several times
Walked to Wood Green Station Piccadilly line- Wood Green to Finsbury Park Victoria line- Finsbury Park to Tottenham Hale Greater Anglia- Tottenham Hale to Brimsdown TE939 (307)- Brimsdown Station to Crown Road Walked to Southbury Station Overground- Southbury to Seven Sisters Victoria line- Seven Sisters to Finsbury Park Great Northern- Finsbury Park to New Barnet TE1421 (307)- New Barnet Station/Station Road to Barnet Hospital/Queens Road (really annoyingly, Wellhouse Lane was shut for roadworks so the 307 terminated at the 107 stop) DEM1912 (384)- Barnet Hospital/Queens Road to Rowley Green Lane (bus completely skipped the neighborhood around Barnet Hospital so had to walk down Quinta Drive to connect with the 184. SEe125 (184)- Chesterfield Road to Barnet High Street/Barnet Church (that's the 184 ticked off now. Was waiting for an opportunity to slide it in) TE1086 (263)- Barnet High Street/Barnet Church to North Finchley Bus Station HV128 (221)- North Finchley Bus Station to Haringey Civic Centre Walked home

Went to SW London (Kingston to be more exact) for the 5 K-prefixed routes that can be seen in the area. Couldn't have picked a worse date to do it with the 599th train strike of the year but I managed to deal with it.
Walked to Wood Green station Piccadilly line- Wood Green to Leicester Square Northern line- Leicester Square to Morden SDE20243 (K5)- Morden Station to Beaufort Road BE37055 (371)- Lock Road to Norbiton Church/Tiffin Girls School WVN19 (131)- Norbiton Church/Tiffin Girls School to Fairfield Bus Station VE3 (213)- Fairfield Bus Station to Cromwell Road Bus Station (nice to get a ride on these again) SDE20309 (K1)- Cromwell Road Bus Station to Tolworth Broadway (got dumped here last minute. Spoke about it in the T&O thread). SDE20314 (K1)- Tolworth Broadway to New Malden Station Just missed VE2 on the 213 so had to make do with DOE28 to Kingston Hospital (not that that's a bad thing) SDE20296 (K4)- Kingston Hospital to Ripon Gardens Walked to Hook Parade (wanted to stretch the legs a little bit ( DLE30130 (K2)- Hook Parade to Kingston Hospital DE30025 (K3)- Kingston Hospital to Esher High Street (was supposed to take this back to Roehampton Vale Asda but just missed it as I returned from relieving myself so had to wait 30 mins for the next one) DE30016 (K3)- Esher High Street to Roehampton Vale Asda DLE30137 (265)- Roehampton Vale Asda to Putney Bridge Station/Gonville Street Putney Bridge was closed at this point so caught EH106 on the 22 to Sloane Square to make my way home District line- Sloane Square to Victoria Victoria line- Victoria to Finsbury Park (needed the hot Vic in this weather) Piccadilly line- Finsbury Park to Wood Green Walked home

Did the P routes today. Didn't think it will take this long as it did (took me just over 9 Hours) but that is nothing compared to the R routes I'll be doing soon.
Walked to Wood Green station Piccadilly line- Wood Green to King's Cross st Pancras Northern line- King's Cross st Pancras to Elephant & Castle 1526 (P5)- Elephant & Castle/Newington Causeway to Lambeth Town Hall 36375 (P4)- Brixton Station to Lewisham Station 11304 (136)- Lewisham Station to New Cross Bus Garage (got off a stop too late so had to walk backwards to the Sainsbury's) Had some time until the next P13 arrived so popped into Sainsbury's for a snack 8331 (P13)- New Cross Sainsbury's to Streatham Station Walked to Streatham Station Thameslink- Streatham to Tulse Hill The 1505 train to Beckenham Junction was cancelled due to lack of train staff (!) so had to wait 40+ minutes for the next one, a decision that screwed me in the end Southern- Tulse Hill to New Cross Gate via a change at Crystal Palace Overground- New Cross Gate to Surrey Quays
got to Surrey Quays and couldn't tap out. Turns out that I have exceeded the travel limit. Got a refund but that went wrong as I ended up back in the minus
SE156 (P12)- Surrey Quays Shopping Centre to Brockley Rise/Chandos Wanted to take the 172 but the next one was coming in 17 minutes so I just took the P4 to Brixton instead 36340 (P4)- Brockley Rise to Brixton Station Walked to Lambeth Town Hall to finish off the P5 1509 (P5)- Lambeth Town Hall to Patmore Estate/Drury House Walked to Battersea Power Station Northern line- Battersea Power Station to Leicester Square Piccadilly line- Leicester Square to Wood Green Walked home

Then P13 to Streatham station Then any of 109/250/133/159 to Brixton followed by P4 to lewisham Then 122 to Honor Oak followed by P12 to Surrey Quays Then overground - jubilee - northern to elephant and castle (or 188). Then the P5 to patmore estate
