This might be useful for anyone who needs to use the 3, 37, 201, P4 & N3 during January & February next year:
Three Historic Bridges on the borders of Lambeth & Southwark will be replaced as part of essential improvement works.
Assessments to the Victorian bridges on Croxted Road, Rosendale Road & Village Way have concluded they are under strength and must be replaced. Network Rail, which is responsible for the work, promised the design of the new bridges will complement the existing Victorian bridges, with beautiful heraldic crest features on the corners of the structures retained. The closure of the bridges while work takes place will mean diversions are in place and traffic likely to be slow moving so motorists are urged to plan ahead. Local residents, schools & businesses have been kept aware of the plans.
The schedule of works
From 9pm on January 11th to 11pm on January 26th, Croxted Road and Rosendale Road will be closed to all traffic at the bridges that lie south of the junctions with Hawarden Grove. A pedestrian walkway under the bridges will be available throughout this time except for the following times when Network Rail will provide a shuttle service for those who need it:
Rosendale Road - 7pm on January 17th to 8am on January 20th
Croxted Road - 7am on January 17th to midday on January 20th
From 9pm on February 8th to 11pm on February 23rd, Village Way will be closed to traffic at the bridge. A pedestrian walkway will be available except for the following times:
Village Way - 7pm on February 14th to midday on February 17th
