Are there many of these still running nowadays or are staff expected to find their own way to and from their garage using nightbuses if necassary?
I notice that many garages have very little, if any, staff car parking available.

Metrobus (Orpington) have a staff bus which is one of the little ferry buses that go and collect drivers who don't have cars and take them I work, I use it a lot when I'm on earlies or lates.
Stagecoach (Bromley) use a bus of some sort and only stick to main roads

London General tend to use whatever single deckers are available. There was a time when Stockwell didn't have any single decker routes (after the C1 and 211 were lost to Travel London) and MCW Metrobuses were instead used.

Metroline have at least two P reg step Darts as meal relief buses - both in the pink & blue livery.

Stagecoach West Ham have a small fleet of red transit vans that do runs to Canning Town and West Ham Station. However I don't see a reason why the drivers couldn't walk from Star Lane.

NX have one and I believe its a single decker, I have never used it as I have a car and we are very lucky at NX of having parking inside and outside of the garage.

Abellio's Beddington garage doesn't provides ferries for their drivers (they used to under Travel London with a company car/van) but Battersea garages does but only for drivers who finish around 1am.

I'm surprised Beddington doesn't have a staff bus service, especially as that depot is pretty much 'out in the sticks' compared to Battersea. The nearest night bus would be the 264, a good mile or so away.

That was the only downside of doing lates there. I got a lift to Thornton Heath from another driver once and was advised to ask the yardman nicely for a drop to Croydon the other time. I wonder if it would be worthwhile TfL providing a couple of journeys on the 455s between BC and Croydon Town Centre for the benefit of the drivers there and at C too?

Every now and then when I'm driving home from the gf's house around midnight, I come across a HH DE/DPS traveling along the A312 (The Parkway), away from Hounslow towards Hayes. It never has any interior lights on so I can never see if there's anyone on board. I can't think of any other reason as to why it would be traveling that way, especially at that time of night.

Westbourne Park have a staff bus duty that signs on at 10pm. There is a book and drivers fill in where they want to go, and at around 1 we usually take whatever bus is free and take drivers home. The furthest north i've been is Finsbury Park, and south is Peckham. However, at weekends there should be a staff bus, but there are usually 2 spare N28 jobs, so we have to cover them.

BX still run a staff bus from around 1am, have driven it a fair few times, usually use an SE, very rarely use the LDP's. The BX staff bus also accommodates BV drivers so will usually be seen popping in and out of BV as well!
