Well this is turning into a rather windy night! - Tonight feels worse than 1987! sure it's not but boy it's windy!
I see the Central has been affected!
No service between Ealing Broadway and North Action due to structural damage at Ealing Broadway, tickets valid on the buses and First Great train services. Good Service on the rest of the line.
And Overground
Severe Delays due to a tree on the track in the Headstone Lane area.

Apparently trains running though Surbiton were affected by fallen trees. I was lucky to escape that mess when coming into Waterloo!

I was looking at the Flightradar website earlier and it was taking some flights several attempts to land at Heathrow. You have to admire the pilots who can get planes down or up in this sort of weather.
I also feel sorry for drivers of double deckers on a night like this. I don't know what it feels like to drive a high sided vehicle in wind like this but it can't be much fun. Driving a 123 or 230 across Ferry Lane when the gusts are blowing must be fun (not!).
I'm not enjoying it and I'm inside!

Being next to the open water that is the Royal Albert Dock the wind seems to be amplified (as does any good weather!) I know it can get quite chilly with the slightest of wind so I really don't want to go outside in this weather! (In particular walking over the bridge on Woolwich Manor Way) And then you have horizontal rain involved too, luckily I've only been caught in it once. The first storm we had right back in October damaged the roof of a neighbouring accommodation block.
Earlier an unsafe structure was causing diversions for buses in Ilford.

I'm not enjoying it and I'm inside! There was similar problems with the windy weather just before Christmas when I was driving the last 157 finishing at 0230 hrs (I posted it somewhere in the forum). For some reason I felt better when I was moving along. I can't forget when I was stationary at Goat House Bridge in South Norwood (due to temporary traffic lights) and the bus was just shaking quite rapidly. Im sure that the wheels on the van in front was leaving the road at one stage. After a few moments, the van driver could take no more and went through the red lights. Strangely, I got used to it. Despite the bad weather, I was still able to drive and the sudden movements on the steering wheel just felt like I was driving over a pothole It wasn't just the wind but the problems on the road with the falling trees and advertising boards flying everywhere. I recall one moment when I was approaching a stop but I was too busy checking to see if anyone was at the stop, just before noticing a big tree lying right next to the stop. As I was approaching at speed I had no choice but to fling the bus over to the wrong side of the road
