Haven’t done many bus routes e2e. This is my list:

** - never actually used route N250, but have done the old 250 (which is the current N250, excluding the fact that it didn’t go via East Croydon during the day) and 64/198 (for the East Croydon section) many times.

Not really a fan of the slow longer routing single deck routes (and 129) especially on the 192/393/488 and the boring dull areas on 32/67/332 and just feel like some routes have rude passengers often 259/260/316/330 and this goes for all the routes on the list bar 129

Simply because theres always something to catch your eye whilst on the bus which can be fun (the City or a certain place or just nice views)
Although youd probably be sitting in herds of traffic on the 8, 11, 94, 148, 205
Special bonus to the 76, De Beavouir is beautiful and then you get the view of the City right after, so big bonus. The route after Dalston does get a bit boring though. And special bonus to the 100 quirky little route makes you feel like youre time travelling to the modernism of S't Paul's-Aldgate to going back to the Victorian style roads of Wapping and Shadwell and the road design too

The 146 and R8 are nice as are 412 and the 166 south of Purley. The 107 is another nice one.

Regarding the U9 I share your frustrations - I wondered what was happening when we had a blast along the A40 to Denham and into Harefield from there...after waiting at Harefield Hospital for 25 minutes for the next return to Uxbridge the driver was good enough to mention the (HS2 related) diversion.

The U1 is problematic insofar as it's 'true' southern terminus of West Drayton Station remains closed.

I actually enjoyed the diversion. Those MMCs really got pushed to their limit which I didn't think they have considering how slow and lethargic some buses can be over here
