Just to note that the Chancellor has announced that the Government and the Mayor will work together to investigate the possible extension of the Barking - Gospel Oak service to Barking Riverside. Note no commitment to funding at this time and Boris said on the telly that it will take some years to work through the detail and get agreement.
An interesting development and one that's been lurking on the sidelines for quite a few months. Note that John Biggs (Assembly Member) has asked the Mayor if an extra station at Renwick Road in Barking would also be built as part of the plan. The Mayor's Answer to that might emerge next week.

As I understand it the planning agreement allows 10,000 more homes to be built if the line is built. The cost is about 150m and its all about paying upfront as it would be easy to just add 15,000 to price of each house to fund it. The problem is it could be years before last houses are built (if they get built) so its an open ended loan and who provides it.
