I had the misfortune of having to work yesterday (30th March) the rail replacement service for the Piccadilly line between Hammersmith - Acton Town was woefully underbussed the queue at Hammersmith was 500+ having to wait for about 6 buses before we were crammed in. There were large gaps in-between these buses as well. The Metroline officials when asked when there would be a bus had no idea. I have had to use rail replacements before when District/Victoria lines have been closed and Arriva/GAL seemed to provide a more reliable service by calling up for the spare buses on the stands to enter service to cater for the loadings.

Mate i sympathize with you. LUL need urgently to get this right because every time there is a RRS on the Picc Line out west it is chaos. There are never enough buses , the routes are often daft , and no information.
Its ridiculous because it could be so easy....
I remember it being out back in the 1980's between Hammersmith and Heathrow. I kid you not , at 7am that Sunday there were buses from all over London waiting at Butterwick to take you down to Heathrow via the A4/M4. It was like a mini bus rally.
Looks like the cuts are being made ... Just do your best to avoid the replacements now, they are no fun.

Your title of this thread doesn't match the post above. If the Piccadilly Line Underground Replacement service is a farce (which I'm not disbelieving), then why have you lumped in the District & Victoria Underground Replacement services despite saying you've have no issues with. I don't understand how all Underground Replacement services can be a farce when you've a problem with one. I've used the Victoria Line Underground Replacement service before and I agree with you, it's well co-ordinated. Maybe, you should write in to the relevant people and ask them to make changes.

I've used the Northern line RRB's and will again on Saturday when they're out on the Edgware branch. At all times they were very frequent, well organised and even had some with short turns.
