Hey everyone! Here an idea. Reroute the 309 down Robinson Road from Approach Road (next to the pub) and onto Russia Lane where there is space to place a bus stop then on to Bishops Way where there is space to have another bus stop to serve Cambridge Heath station (which will soon be London Overground) then turn left back toward York Hall and Bethnal Green. Going right down Bonner Road would cause problems as you have both the roundabout and the crossing which is very tight and may not fit a bus. The D3 would continue to serve the existing route both ways as would the 309 towards the Chest Hospital. The Soles and with buses only going one way should be able to fit down them streets and apart from school hours is light loaded until Bethnal Green. It is a fair walk to a bus stop with buses going to Bethnal Green and beyond around Bishops Way/Permiter Road area and there has been a major development and a student block built there which would also benefit from this.

Just one small comment. I've only used the 309 from the Chest Hospital once but there were a few elderly people waiting for it who had been to the hospital. Your proposal would leave hospital users with a walk in order to use the 309 to or from the hospital. Given people using the Chest Hospital may have difficulty in walking even a short distance it makes sense to keep the buses serving the hospital. I don't disagree with your aspiration for better local links - perhaps your idea needs a little tweak to meet both objectives?

This is how I would have is and it would be all one way (no real way to have it two way or real point) Towards Chest Hospital: Bethnal Green Station York Hall (Old Ford Road) Peel Grove Chest Hospital (End) Towards Bethnal Green Station: Chest Hospital (Start) Russia Lane Bishops Way York Hall (Cambridge Heath Road) Bethnal Green Station People will still be able to get the 309 from there and anyone could just take a D3 to Bethnal Green to get there faster but it wouldn't make a lot of difference to the elderly or school kids. So Hospital and School access will not be a problem as it would still need end/start right outside the Hospital. Just be rerouted from Approach Road via the back streets improving local access and going back onto Cambridge Heath Road towards Bethnal Green Station.

This idea could in theory work but if it could instead continue up bonner road to Bishop Way if the crossing was sightly widen to fit a solo then you could have a bus stop on bishop way near the crossing serving an area that is a fair distance from any bus stop then turn into Cambridge Heath Road. You could just extend the 323 to Aberfeldy Street and let the 309 continue down Ascot Road and bypass the Aberfeldy Street so that the route is not made any longer.
