A whopping 84.3% disagreed with the proposal. On the other hand the majority of respondents used the service less than 2/3 times a month.
Good to see that the vehicles in the best condition will transfer to Route 15H.
They have at least stressed the fact several times that routemasters will be kept on the 15H.

Am willing to bet that most who replied to this particular proposal were enthusiasts. I will be sad to see the RMs on the 9 depart, but can see TfL's point. As long as they spend the money saved wisely! This probably also answers blakey1983's question on another thread about Tower Transit's RM1280 - it's highly unlikely to survive the route 9 cull!

Hardly - it was stated as July when the prospect of withdrawal was first mentioned. LOTS have been reporting the date for 2 months and it was always obvious the route would be axed regardless of the consultation.

Personally, TfL missed a trick here - they could of axed the 9H and inserted a 159H from Parliament Square to Marble Arch or from the Imperial War Museum to Oxford Circus.

Although I said Yes to these proposals I have to agree with these two No statement made by the respondents • "Can you not find someone to sponsor or subsidise this service / perhaps volunteers could run this service" • "Transfer these buses to another route"
I would support those two ideas. But thinking practically if the 9H stays the way it is now it will continue to lose money unlike the 15H. However I think if the 15H was in the same situation it would retain it's RM .
This statement was quite passive aggressive but funny at the same time ~ "Consultation is a waste of time your decision is already made"
This statement is something I was think of to - "How can you do this in the 'Year of the Bus'?"
Rest of the responses

What's to stop anyone with the means to do this from sponsoring a commercial service over the route?

What's to stop anyone with the means to do this from sponsoring a commercial service over the route? The commercial service may not be recognised due to the commercial companies unfamiliar branding (a logo that is not the London Bus Roundel and different coloured buses that are not all over red) and the fact that route can not be called the 9 (9H) may stop competitors (unfamiliar numbering ). Also not all the stop on the 9/9H could served by the competing commercial service, this may not attract tourist who'd like to get off at a particular stop.

Worth giving this thread a bump, as the last day is imminent. I shall go for a final ride. Anyone else?

The best we can hope for is that it totals a NBfL before the end
