Cant find any information on which routes the extra buses will be on. Presume it will be main routes like N5,N9,N20,N91,N97 etc that cover tube routes ?

TfL's weekly alerts email says that there will be over 150 extra buses scattered around night/24h routes.

Is it going to be similar to the New Year extras where some routes like 66 operate at night?

Is it going to be similar to the New Year extras where some routes like 66 operate at night? I wouldn't have thought so, presumably just more buses on existing night routes? The quote from a TfL E Mail in Hassaan's earlier post clearly states "extra night buses in Central London" so it's not the NYE expanded service. That only runs because the tube, DLR and some rail routes run overnight on NYE. The fact TfL have not issued details of the routes to be enhanced doesn't hugely help people understand where the extra buses will run. They could do better than this but I sense the whole thing has been done in a mad panic rather than being planned. It's as if the World Cup and the timing of the matches is a surprise. EDIT - just seen a tweet from TfL Bus Alerts which says they don't even know where the extra buses will run! Sounds like extra buses just marshalled to act as queue busters as necessary.

There were so many people out on Saturday night! The streets were near empty during the game - but my last run at around 1am, I picked up almost 100 people at London Bridge. There were buses dotted all over the place with "EXTRA" boards in their windscreens. I was waiting for a 176 in Camberwell after I finished work and let the first (stacked!) one go to allow customers to get on. I noticed the N35s were absolutely rammed going in both directions at Camberwell Green. Meanwhile, an extra 176 turned up - but it was only going as far south as Camberwell Green, depositing around 80 people at a bus stop that already had a crowd of around 50 people waiting.
The next 176 to Penge turned up, packed to the rafters. It set down a few people. I did get on this one. After a bit of drama with the driver refusing to move the bus, somebody pressed the button to close the front doors. The driver could see the mirror once people moved and leaving dozens of people behind, we were on our way.

Saturday night was busy in the Croydon area as well but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. I was on the T33 that day and reached East Croydon around 2225 hours and I assumed the amount of people there were all going to the high street to watch the England game. I saw one tram at West Croydon (heading to New Addington) which was ridiculously packed. I never seen a tram at that time of night with that many passengers onboard. I had a bit of a problem getting home that day as well. I got to the tram stop but suddenly the trams were all terminating at Reeves Corner. The next tram was due in 3 minutes but I waited over 5 minutes before deciding I would get a 455 which was also quite packed by the time it got to Purley Way. I could of avoided East Croydon on my way home but was curious to see why there was so many people there and initially, all I could make out was a lot of people standing in and around the Post Office I then saw lots of flashing disco lights which I then realised why they were there. England are playing again this Thursday but I guess there's no extra buses that day?

Tramlink was suspended for hours because the police cordon covered the tracks. Nothing to do with football mania.
