I dare say TfL may dig out the statistic from the ticket sales data to find the absolute last ticket sold. They'll be able to give time, stop and route. I was going to do the night buses snapathon last night but the weather forecast turned rainy so I didn't bother. It would have been interesting to see what happened "on the ground" as the change kicked in but alas the opportunity was lost.

A passenger on the 12 at 2pm today managed to blag a free ride from Barry Road to Peckham Rye Kings on the Rye as he didn't have an Oyster or contactless card. Welcome to the new world of blagging a freebie.

Welcome to the new world of blagging a freebie. Won't be so free when they get caught by Revenue Inspectors... Plus that person is lazy, that is a short distance they could have walked it....

Isn't there a few weeks grace where passengers with no other means of paying will be allowed a free ride? Whether the person is lazy or not they are entitled to use buses for the purpose they are intended.

The person is not entitled to travel on the bus unless they contribute like every other person who contibutes, plus the distance between Barry Road & Peckham Rye is about a 10 minute walk, imo that is just laziness. A lot of people these days are just so lazy and will jump on a bus one or two stops which is a short walk...

How do you know they was able to walk that distance? If he can approach a bus and waste a drivers time by doing that he can walk from Barry Road to Peckham Rye... From the description above it seems very Obvious that the person can walk...

He boarded mid way up Barry Road which is about 10-15 min walk away to the Kings on the Rye stop.

But seeing as the passenger had no way of paying for the journey, then of course he shouldn't be allowed on the bus! I have no sympathy for him/her!

And here lies the problem. This passenger doesn't count as being vulnerable. I have no problem with a passenger who clearly needs help, but for people like him, it makes a mockery of me paying for a weekly bus pass.

Topped up my oyster the other day and noticed they have put the £1.99 Mc Donalds voucher that was on bus tickets on the oyster receipt.
