How do we find out which company is bidding for which routes? Isn't that information only kept internally?

It's all confidential, certainly before the results are announced. Never stops the rumour machines going into overdrive in garages however!

How do we find out which company is bidding for which routes? You don't unless you work in Surface Transport procurement and even then there will be measures in place to keep the process confidential! The tender results only list the number of bidders and the winning contractor. It is supposed to be a commercially confidential process so I understand why the info isn't released. However I do think TfL could list the bidders but only, say, once the new contract term has commenced and there is no scope for challenge or withdrawal. Knowing who bid for what would be interesting from a historical perspective. I would not propose showing what prices each bidder bid as that could be commercially damaging. I imagine TfL would need to get bidders' consent to releasing their identity even many months after the procurement has concluded.
