Route 417: Clapham Park Streatham Hill, Telford Avenue Upper Norwood, Crown Point It's just called "Norwood, Crown Point" isn't it? Yes but I'm not going by TfL's 'dumbed down' blinds - the area where Crown Point is situated is called Upper Norwood and the original blind was 'Upper Norwood, Crown Point'.

Quite right, it is UPPER NORWOOD Isn't it just used for buses to Norwood Garage nowadays? I don't know if the stand in Grecian Crescent is still there or if it is still accesible for buses?

The stand in Grecian Crescent was moved, first to the entrance of Grecian Crescent and now it's on Beulah Hill itself. The original stand was located under a tree with cars usually parked right where the stand was so buses used to just sit at the entrance of Grecian Crescent instead.

Crown Point is too much of an advanced name for such an awful part of Norwood. Plus Crown Point can't be in Upper Norwood because West Norwood very close, makes no sense imo. Looking at Maps Upper Norwood is further up Beulah Hill coming onto South Norwood Hill

Lol. There used to be more! The U6 ran between Hayes & Harlington Stn and West Drayton Stn via Stockley Pk - basically the present day 350 and the U8 ran on a Sunday only between Uxbridge and either Harefield or Mt Vernon Hospital (can't remember which) via Hillingdon Hosp and Ruislip. There could also of been a U11, have no idea of its routing or destinations but some of UX's DE's are blinded for it and the side blind reads U11 Via St Johns Road.

I just edited my post above, but you answered my questions anyway lol. That's an interesting about the U11 blinds. The U10 runs between a number of back streets between Uxbridge & Ruislip, via Swakeleys Park & Ickenham. It serves quite a few streets that are well off the beaten track and quite a large estate at the Ruislip end. Its the only 'U' route I've never dine end to end. Has too much running time too! buses barely crawl above 20! The U8 was a partial Sunday replacement for the U1 & U2. Back then, the U1 ran between Uxbridge and Harefield Hosp via Ruislip and neither operated on a Sunday, it ran from Uxbridge via the U4 to Hillingdon Hosp, then via the U2 route to Hillingdon Stn, then via Long Lane to Ruislip then via current 331 routing to Harefield Hosp except it missed out on the section to Northwood.
