I'd like to see a Gemini/Trident combination. I'm sure @safwaanf1 would agree that would be perfect for Stagecoach to order ... TBH I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious. If you're being serious, then NO, I wouldn't like to see that. Not in a million years. If anything I wouldn't mind an ALX400/Volvo B7TL (I don't know if any of these exist in London or even in the UK but if there are some in London I've never seen them). Two combos I'd like to see are an ADL E400/Scania N9...(Whatever the BW Omnicities are on) and a Scania Omnicity/ADL E400 Hybrid. Actually I'd like to see Scania Omnicities on all chassis possible except the B9TL and the B5LH (so on Trident 2, B7TL, E400 Diesel, NBFL, etc). Also all bodies on the 09-plate Omnicity chassis. And all bodies on the E400 H chassis. I know, quite a lot of fantasy combos. The absolute dreams would probably be these three (in no particular order): 1)Scania Omnicity/ADL E400H 2)Scania Omnicity/Dennis Trident 2 3)ADL E400/Scania N9... Edit: A combo that would be wonderful would be an NBFL body on Scania N9... chassis. Also NBFL body on E400H chassis. That's a match made in heaven.

I would like too see more Optare Versa, Optare MetroCitys, MCV Evolutions (If they are still being made) and Wright StreetLites because there needs to be more variety when it comes to single deckers. How come all the operators in London only choose Enviro200s? What's so great about Enviro200s? At least chose something different once in a while. In the past there was variety when it comes with single deckers like e.g. Marshall Capitals, Plaxton Pointers, Alexander ALX200 and Wright Cadets not now. Enviro 200s are very reliable vehicles, which is why companies buy them. They are actually very nice to drive too, with everything the driver needs in easy reach of the driver. Have you driven a Optare Versa or a Optare MetroCitys or a MCV Evolution or a Wright StreetLite?

Oh and as for SDs, I'd like to see way more MAN MCV Evos! (My fav SD). I'd also like to see Wright Eclipse 2 SDs, and more Versas, Tempos, Streetlites, Citaros, new Wright Cadets, new Caetanos, new Omnitowns, and new SD Omnicities

Yep, it's me who hates most Enviro 200's - I'd still ride them if I have to though. As for Spectras, London only had one low floor batch of Spectra's brought new for Capital Logistics on the 60. They were T reg and were the only dual door and bonded glazed Spectras built. I believe they were ended up with London Sovereign to cover a vehicle shortage and left in the mid 00's, most likely due to being non standard. London Central had a batch of K reg Spectra's for the 3 but they only lasted until 1999 due to the 3 being won by Connex and the fact that the batch was very unreliable. So why were only a few ordered? What was the reason why not many were ordered? It was the first low-floor double decker available in the UK, wasn't it? Or was it just that particular bus that entered service a few hours early? I think I saw an Optare Spectra on Sunday with the Big Bus Tours, it looked kind of familiar and I've seen pics of the Spectra. Can anyone confirm that they have one? I've seen it two Sunday mornings in a row now on Embankement W/B just before Parliament Sq/Westminster Bridge. The Spectra was indeed the first low floor double decker in the UK - I'm unsure why many wern't ordered but independents seemed to like them. I don't think the Big Bus fleet has any Spectra's in - in fact I've never seen any open top Spectra's ever - do you have any reg or fleetnumber details?

There's been LOADS of ALX400 Volvo B7TLs in London. First, London United, and London Central had them. In fact, Arriva still have them in use (the VLAs, like the ones found on the 128). And in fact, the E400 is available with the N230UD chassis if I'm correct (the ones found on the Euro IV(?) and above Omnicities). Some examples can be found in some Stagecoach buses elsewhere in the country (search for it on YouTube). If you're interested, the E400 has been available with the B9TL & B5LH chassises too, and the new MMCs will be available to have it also. And for the record, I was joking about the Gemini/Trident thing Hehe

There are 100's of Volvo B7TL's in the UK & Ireland with ALX400 bodies and there are still a sizeable number in London. Arriva's VLA's are ALX400 Volvo B7TL's. The Dennis Trident, Volvo B7TL & DAF/VDL DB250LF chassis were the only ones available with a ALX400 body.

The Omnicity DD was available with the N230UD, N270UD & the very rare N310UD chassis (I think Lothians Omnicity DD's were N310UD's and were also LWB at 11.4m).

I know Stagecoach have a lot E400s on Scania chassis, it's just a shame none of them are in London.

I agree, I wish Scania was still making the OmniCity (albeit with better seats... because that's the only thing I don't like about these things.) More of those please! We don't need anymore of those boring LTs... the rot has set in for me so it's too late for me to even care anymore (9, 10, *sniff* ) The single-decker scene... too many Enviro200s! Go-Ahead looked like it was going to switch to the more interesting-looking StreetLite but they've gone back to the boring Enviro200s. Some full sized deckers would be useful on many routes and it would be great to have some more. The OmniCity SD, the Citaros and the Tempos are very nice buses. Good to see some nicer Optare vehicles and the more interesting MCV. Nothing against Enviro200s, except the sheer number of them and how rattly some of them can get... (I'm looking at you, 313 ENXs... ) They are quite nice-looking vehicles though, in their defense. I wouldn't really want to see the double-decker scene becoming just Enviro400s and Gemini buses, to be honest. Especially when both are dull buses when not hybrids. The older types are great, but they'll be gone soon... (Tridents, Presidents, Vykings, Gemini 1s, DLAs/DLPs/1st gen DWs). I wish the MCV DD103 caught on... Sadly I have no knowledge of buses older than low-floor apart from the Routemaster... but hey, in twenty years I'll be saying 'The OmniCitys back in my day... proper beasts, those buses. Not like this slop today...!' ;D

I had a treat yday when a Metrobus went through richmond on a school hire. Hearing those sounds and just the look of the bus took me right back to my school days in the late 90s.

I had a choice between Metrobuses and 1 Titan for a short period in the early 00's on the 196 or a mixture of refurbed & non refurbed L's on the 2 (and later, 432) as my bus to secondary school. Brilliant times they were.

Newer iterations of the older types you quoted should really be built!.

I do not think the time will come when operators change their purchases to end the boredom of enthusiasts. I don't think anyone is suggesting that they will - the thread is more for fantasy ideas and what you'd like to see. What??? You mean to say operators don't think "We'll order a couple of them, the spotters would love 'em?"
