Enviro 200s are very reliable vehicles, which is why companies buy them. They are actually very nice to drive too, with everything the driver needs in easy reach of the driver. Have you driven a Optare Versa or a Optare MetroCitys or a MCV Evolution or a Wright StreetLite? Single Deckers ive driven are MPDs, E200s, Dart Esteems, MAN Esteems, Scania Omnitowns and Solos, and give me a Dart of some kind over anything else....

Really?, out of the list I would've thought the MCV Evos and Scania Omnitowns are the best SDs to drive (most certainly ride). Also the new Enviro 200 seems much better all round than its predecessor.

Optare Panaire's! Seriously though, what about an Optare Olympus/ADL E400H? Yes I want the Olympus back! . Are you referring to the Olympus/E400 DOE version?, because it exists but mainly in the Sutton area. I would like to see some in Central London though, why are the best buses always in Greater London *sigh*....

And I know what you mean, I live close to Central London and there are no Olympus', no Versa's and only one route withe Scania Omnicities. While E400s and NBFLs are great vehicles, it's a shame there isn't more diversity in these sort of areas.

I just wish it was like HK, over there are hybrids I never even knew existed lol.

I honestly think London would be a better place if the bus network had alot more bus types, too much of a few bus types would be a boring sight, which is where London might be heading with the influx of NB4Ls and the sufficiently ubiquitous Enviros. Personally I would cap the NB4L orders at 350, and I would split the rest of the orders (and then some) between the Gemini 3 B9TL (conventional type), Volvo MCV B9TL, new Enviro 400, Wright Streetdeck, Optare Metrodecker, and ambitiously Tri-Axle buses!. Oh and I would keep the Olympus, Omnicities and Vykings . Which bus types would you like to see more of within London's bus network? Couple of Youtube videos for you of London with diverse bus types and liveries by Simon Smiler. All South East/West London but apparently more to come... Moz

Really interesting videos!, thanks alot moz . That Tri-Axle on the 180 , was very surprised to see that!. So London did have some in service, I don't understand why they can't have any now because I think they would make a great difference. Those videos really highlight how diverse buses were in London before, it's a shame the same can't be said for today much as standardisation is prevalent.

That's the only video I've seen of the tri-axle Olympian running around. Note it didn't seem to carry any passengers in the video shots although it ran in service. I rode on it when it was on the 123 - complete piece of luck as it was behind the bus I did catch and I asked the driver where it was and he said "10 mins behind". Definitely time to leap off and wait - no LVF in those days! My avatar proves I saw it. There are, of course, lots of tri-axles in service in London. They just happen to be on sightseeing, Oxford Tube and coaching work.

By the looks of it that Tri-Axle 180 started from Bellingham and probably begun in service further up from Lewisham, around the 3:30 mark if you look carefully there is a passenger in the upper deck at the front, albeit lightly used. You are certainly lucky to have witnessed one of them!. It would be great to see them operating on actual bus routes

In the North London Buses video, the clip of the 187 at South Harrow trying to get through around the 12:11 mark was quite funny, it just got stuck lol. It also brought back memories when I used to see those darts on the 187 at Queen's Park, I would walk outside my house when I was little and see them there on the bus stand with the 36 Routemasters, it's a shame I never used to get on it much then as opposed to now
