From LOTS TLB a few interesting route changes coming up or proposed 1/11/14 44 - increased frequency to x8 M-F peaks 185 - increased frequency to x8 M-S peaks and off peak (not eve/Sun) 133 - M-f eve frequency increased to x8 22/11/14 130 - extended to Thornton Heath as planned future 359 - to be an all day route and extended from Selsdon to Purley Cross via Sanderstead Church and Purley Downs Road. 382 - extended to Millbrook Park from MHE 415 - extended to Old Kent Rd (Tesco) from E&C coincident with new contract (7/3/15) N133 - extended from Mitcham to Morden Nice to see a set of positive improvements even if fairly modest.

I agree with the 133 & 185 enhancements, can't comment on the 44 though around 10 years ago, that certainly would be welcomed for the 44. The 359 proposal is very interesting as its a massive step up from a Mon to Sat shopping hours route to an all day route.

Brilliant news development on route 415 - this extension provides an excellent link for the Old Kent, New Cross area to connect Brixton which is needed. Finally, the route has more of a purpose.

The 359 proposal is very interesting as its a massive step up from a Mon to Sat shopping hours route to an all day route. On the few occasions I see the 185 it is usually ridiculously overloaded. I assume this change is part of the deal for the QI extensions on several of the former East Thames routes. I understand the 44 loads very heavily in the peaks these days given the quick link into Victoria - no surprise that the frequency needs improvement. I agree with you about the 359. Looking at a 2012 South East London Bus Map it was telling that Purley Downs Road is shown on the map but without a service! This is sometimes a give away that TfL want to run a service down a road. The same applies to that road near Norwood Junction that the extended 130 will serve. I expect the 359 change will not cost too much as it will be small buses shuttling back and forth - probably no more frequently than every 30 minus so possibly a PVR of 3 buses rather than 1. The one thing that's unclear is what "all day" means and whether the run will run on Sundays. I'm thinking of what may happen with the public responding to a consultation and perhaps some people not wanting a late evening service as happened with the 398 in NW London. Doing the obligatory Google Street View of the 359 route and the proposed new bit I am surprised to see how many houses there are. The loop near Addington is stuffed full of housing and yet has a poor service. Purley Downs Road has some big houses on it but there is other housing set back where I can see that people would benefit from a bus link to Purley Town Centre / Station and across to Tramlink. It's quite a gap in the network so I can see why TfL want to improve matters. Something tells me this may be a route that will grow and grow once it gets established.

Was hoping for a more definite start date with the N133 extension. Nevertheless it's good to see that it is still planned.

That I do agree with, it definitely will have a more of a purpose. Now, hopefully they look at my extension to Streatham via Leigham Vale & Valley Road lool.

The 185 has needed a frequency boost for quite a long time the route is just too busy, ever since ETB started running the route the service has settled and become more reliable. It is a route I choose to avoid nowadays simply because it is too busy and quite overcrowded. I will always remember that I once waited 1 hour for the 185 and I think during this time the route was suffering from a lot of difficulties.
Also TLB states the 44 & 185 are likely to use some of the vehicles from the 453, along with the 132 which may take up to 19 buses.

It seems everybody agrees that the 185 needs an increase, although I do wonder about Lewisham getting clogged up with too many buses, and the Victoria end of the 44 certainly gets busy at times. Interesting one about the 359 and a link from Addington to Purley has been long overdue. Hopefully the N133 extension to Morden will start before 24 hour Fri/Sat night tubes do.

There are a lot of properties down those roads and while some bus routes are close by (which is what TfL would argue) I can see the merit of a direct bus link straight through. Perhaps if the bus ran down to Streatham Common station to give a link into the main line into Victoria? Val Shawcross would like that one. Whether the 415 is the right route to extend is open to debate but there don't seem to be any real issues as the bridges are high enough for a bus to get under although road width looks tight in a few places.

The problem with Lewisham is there is too much traffic. There is not too many buses really I think there are too many cars. I think getting rid of the Bus Station was a bad idea, because both the new & old one would be great working together

Ideally I'd like to see it extended even further to New Cross, maybe even Lewisham. But sadly traffic on the A2 wouldn't help the route. I wonder how many buses will the 415 need now. Maybe the extra buses needed will be delayed, and we might see some Volvos/Tridents on the route for a while ...although maybe not.

The 359 extention is rather interesting IMO because I never really see a huge demand for the route apart from passengers going to/from the Monks Hill estate/Addington Village Interchange and to/from Selsdon Sainsbury's/Monks Hill estate. Forgive me for thinking this, it may just be thinking too much into things but could this extension be linked to the possible withdrawal of route T32, which would release 3 buses, one of which is already cross linked with route 359?
