TfL has released plans to make changes to the Wandsworth One Way System Full details are on the transforming Wandsworth Town Centre plans In my opinion, the plans might cause delays because it is converting 4 lanes of Westbound traffic into 2 lanes westbound/ 2 lanes eastbound traffic. An existing example of the possible delays, would be Monument Way in Tottenham. Since it was made 2 way, loads of delays and tailbacks frequently occur on this road. View of the proposed changes on Wandsworth High Street (East)

View of the proposed changes on Wandsworth High Street (East) As a fairly regular user of the Wandsworth Gyratory System due to the excellent Cineworld cinema in the Arndale centre (or Southside as its called now), I'm not exactly pleased with this proposal. Currently, the system runs quite smoothly the majority of the time - it's only when there is a problem elsewhere on the A3 or A205 that traffic backs up. My own personal view is that it should remain as it is but that a contraflow bus lane should be installed along Wandsworth High Street for buses going west to east.
