Fares are revised from 2 Jan 2015. Mayoral DecisionHeadlines - PAYG bus fare goes up 5p to £1.50 - No change to daily cap - Weekly bus pass goes up 80p - the one day bus and tram pass is reintroduced at the cost of £5. It will be sold in paper and disposable Oyster card formats from stations and Ticket Stops. It's not clear whether you can buy them in advance for a future date of travel. - Most LU / TfL rail PAYG fares go up 10p except off peak outside of Zone 1. Big changes to daily cap calculation to be 1/5th of weekly travelcard price. This means reductions for some people but increases for others because the peak / off peak distinction is removed for daily caps. People travelling off peak from further out into Zones 1 and 2 will see hefty increases in their daily travel costs including at weekends. Paper One Day Travelcard prices see huge increases and the Z12 All Day ticket is removed altogether. The Z16 off peak ticket increases by £3.10 to £12. Contra peak travel (e.g. from Zone 5 to Zone 1) in the PM peak period on national rail sevices will be charged at off peak rates from 2 Jan 2015. TfL rail services already charge on this basis.

Happy New Fares Increase everyone. Just worth noting that the bus fare is now 66% higher than in 2008 - from 90p to £1.50 in just 6 years.

Well we all know the cheaper prices with Oyster at that time was to encourage customers to use Oyster cards rather than cash and the price of cash fares was subsidizing that but in my opinion the current price for a bus journey is really good for Londoners, one side of London to the other for £1.50 or travel all day on London buses for £4.40 now that's value.
